Beautiful and great value
If you like to have a lot of different colours, full size bottles can be a little too much ink. Cartridges are one option, but these smaller sized bottles are also a great choice, and the pricing means these are excellent value. The colour is beautiful - it's got a faded character with variation when you write that makes it easy on the eyes, stands out, and still looks professional. It's simply one of my favourite colours to use. I've used it in a number of pens now, from my Jinhao EF to a vintage Mont Blanc with a broad nib, and this is definitely one where I like going a little broader to enjoy the colour, although the ink works well in different sizes and has excellent flow. It is a slightly wet ink and it's not very waterproof, so you need to be a little careful, but it's a great ink and one of my favourites. It can be used in a number of different ways, from formal office settings to personal use because it's a very versatile shade.

Great dark ink
This ink is great and dark. It is also easy to clean. The bottle is a good size and can provide a good number of refills. Great item.

Jacques Herbin Ink
From the oldest fountain pen ink manufacturer this one does not disappoint. Beautiful smooth ink flow and great colour finish. Would certainly recommend.

Nice nice mid green that can tend to feel a tad dry in thinner nibs
A nice all-purpose fountain pen ink that appears to behave well in most fountain pens, but can feel a little 'dry' with the finer nibs, as seems common with many green inks. Drying time is about average. No sheen or shimmer but can have some shading depending on the nib used. I'd call the colour a medium green tending towards colours like Diamine Woodland Green but deeper than Kelly Green. There are brighter greens so it doesn't feel too gaudy but can be a nice colour for individualism. I have found that the thinner Chinese nibs do not always like the ink and may skip a little, but the addition of one really tiny drop of diluted washing up liquid in the converter can help the ink flow better - your experience may vary. Herbin inks are generally good quality with a nice colour range and even have shimmering inks if you're into those

Excellent Product
I have owned a Parker Centennial Duofold for 30 yrs, which over the last 10yrs has had very little use. Every now and again I have dug it out in the hope that 'this clean' will finally make it a pleasure to write with again. Each time has had no effect. It still remained 'scratchy' with intermittent ink flow, meaning having to use the plunger to squeeze a little ink out, all god for 5 minutes and then same again. Now I do know the tricks to filling, especially leaving it nib down after filling for a while to let ink migrate to the nib, all to no avail. Came across this by mistake and thought why not. Now don't get me wrong, it is expensive, but not as expensive as the pen, or the cost of sending it away to be 'sorted', or to buy a replacement no matter how cheap. Anyway, bit the bullet even taking some of the reviews 'with a pinch of salt' as to it's effectiveness, but, wow is the only comment I can make. Left filled with fluid for an hour, cleaned with cold water, dried thoroughly then refilled and it really is like I remember when new. Beautifully smooth, no scratching (even with fine nib) consistent ink flow etc. I seriously doubt if Parker themselves could have serviced it better. So, in conclusion to me it is worth every penny and then some, would I use it on a 'cheaper' pen, definitely, as no matter how much a new pen will cost, this still works out cheaper. No to mention with a fountain pen there is a certain amount of 'bedding in' to your style of writing that you would have to go through again. Hope this helps, and yes I did buy it, it wasn't a freebie in exchange for a positive review :-)

Superb quality - I wouldn't want to buy anything else
Amazing quality product. I use it with various degrees of dilution and the result is a smooth ink that I can use as easily with a dip pen or a paint brush. I am also experimenting with mixing each colour gradient with some Indian ink for darker variations. I love the drawings I produce with this quality ink - and the price is very reasonable!

Hard-to-find colour but expensive and poor value; bottle unsuited to purpose
A neutral grey ink and a hard-to-find shade probably best used on a bright white paper. As a lighter tone, it is ideal for the broader nib, possibly with Medium being the minimum you would want to use. The brand of inks tends to need a long-ish drying time, at least 30-45 seconds as it it will otherwise easily smudge, although that may depend upon weather or room temperature. The ink can shade within a stroke and become darker towards the bottom although quite transparent within some areas. With different papers, it can feather fairly extensively on some but not at all on others. However the ink is quite expensive for the quantity provided especially in comparison to other brands. It needs be noted that the ink uses natural dyes rather than synthetics and have been considered by several specialist reviewers as 'too thin' or transparent although easy flowing. From a practical viewpoint, the bottles are small and with a narrow neck that is not amenable to certain styles of fountain pen, one example filling to a wholly unacceptable 25% of capacity. Also the bottles appear to be designed with dip or artists' pens in mind as a pen rest best suited to their size is moulded into the top of each bottle, too small for other than a few fountain pens. Even if a fountain pen is narrow enough to be dipped into the bottle, it will probably fail to fill after a small number of uses as the bottle is ill-designed for the purpose (too squat). The ink is easily washable which may be a bonus should you get some on fingers or clothing but it is equally transient on paper and susceptible to moisture or steam. It has also been noted on several specialist fountain pen sites that Herbin inks have a tendency to clog many brands of pen from the minimally expensive upwards and including several Mont Blanc models (a brand not normally known to clog, ever), in which event the pen will need to be re-filled several times in lukewarm water to dissolve its residues. In view of the practical limitations in its use, this ink cannot be recommended and those purchased are to be returned..

It saved a beautiful Sheaffer pen that was handed down!
Absolutely shocked how effective this is. It revived a pen from my grandfather from the 80s! I'd kept trying to fix it over the years, leaving it in hot water and rinsing thoroughly but nothing ever worked. Thank God I didn't bin it, because after soaking it for a couple hours (just for good measure) in this solution, it is now as good as new!! It writes incredibly smoothly now, it is simply a joy to use. Previously I would struggle to write even 3-4 words with it before it would dry out, even despite having loaded a brand new Faber Castell ink cartridge. HIGHLY recommended

Lovely Ink, sweet shade
This is another gem from J. Herbin stable. This purplish blue ink reminds me of a delicate flower ‘forget me not’. It’s flows really well specially creates dramatic “scriptscape” on a quality paper.
