Uniform, reliable, attractive red butterhead. Darker red and shinier than Skyphos and Red Cross. Alkindus performed well in our spring, summer, and fall trials. Smaller, more dense heads in the spring and larger, less dense heads in the summer. Utility Patent granted. High resistance to downy mildew races 1-26, 28, 32, Nasonovia ribisnigri aphid, and tomato bushy stunt virus (lettuce dieback complex); and intermediate resistance to lettuce mosaic virus.
