I absolutely love this knife. 1-great price, 2-a gorgeous design is etched into it that adds to the moment of cutting a beautiful cake, 3-it’s thin so if you’re cutting something small, like 1x1-in pieces of brownie, it will not cause any disruption on the surface appearance the way a wide knife will, 4-it is very sharp to cut cleanly through anything, 5- the grip is ergonomic, 6- the indentations allow for a release of wetter items, 7-did I say the price is outstanding? & 8- I love the symbol on the end of the grip that shows when it sits in my butcher’s block. I own a set of expensive German knives but was looking for something subtly different for cutting the many cakes I make. This checks all the boxes for me and I highly recommend it!

Awhile ago I purchased the SYOKAMI Butcher Breaking Knife (10.5 Inch Japanese Style Curved Carving Knife) and it has quickly became my favorite kitchen tool! This knife is an absolute gem for anyone who loves cooking, especially for meat prep. The high-carbon stainless steel blade with its Damascus pattern is not only gorgeous but also insanely sharp right out of the box. It glides through big chunks of beef/ brisket, pork, and chicken like butter, making slicing and carving effortless and precise. The 10.5-inch curved blade is perfect for larger cuts, and the balance feels just right, even during extended use. The wooden full tang handle is a standout feature—ergonomic, sturdy, and beautifully crafted, it fits comfortably in the hand and adds a touch of elegance to the knife’s overall aesthetic. One Minor Flaw: The wooden handle, while beautiful, requires occasional oiling to maintain its finish, especially with frequent exposure to water or meat juices. It’s a small trade-off for such a high-quality knife and easily managed with proper care.

I currently own multiple knives from SYOKAMI and this was the first knife from the brand and really like it. When I received the knife, the first thing I noticed was the great packaging. Unboxing experience felt like it was very expensive knife. It comes with a nice plastic sheath for storage but I prefer keeping in on my magnetic display. In terms of knife quality itself, I was kinda shocked about the weight as it is a lot lighter than it looks like. Ergonomics are great and it feels nice in the hand. I would have prefer a little longer handle but as it it good enough. In terms of design, I really like the Damascus pattern and the dimple that help the knife glide through meat without sticking. Out of the box the knife is EXTREMLY sharp and as per my discussion with the manufacturer the blade angle is 17 degrees so it is very thin. Which means that you have to be careful not to cut hard things with it otherwise it could get damaged. I have used this mostly for trimming briskets and carving cooked roasts, where it has performed flawlessly. I have not needed to sharpen it yet but I do hone it on leather every now an then to ensure that nothing is sticking on the blade. One drawback of carbon steel is that it rusts really quickly, so ensure that after each use you wash it by hand and dry it with a cloth. Overall, I have been really happy with value of money of this knife and the quality it provides.

Extremely Satisfied! WOW!! This knife is amazing, to say the least. Being a bit of a knife and blade enthusiast, I find the thickness and length of the blade make it both strong and lightweight, which makes it balanced and easy to maneuver where it has to be. The 1" mark is also spot on at the top of the opening, as it states in the manual. The knife looks like Damascus; however, it is not, and I believe that it is more laser etched instead, but no matter, it doesn't change the function of the knife, and it just looks cool. The handle of this knife fits in my hand as a good knife should, and I am pleased with it. At the end of the handle is a cap with the Japanese symbol on it. There is no sheath with it; however, it does come in a custom-fit box that is foam cut to fit the knife perfectly and is great for storage. I specifically purchased this knife length at 10.5 because I plan on buying large slabs of meat and then cutting them into 1" steaks and freezing them in my Foodsaver bags to fill our freezer, and then cooking on the grill. My overall take on this knife is impressive. I like it.

Finally used it after buying a primal NY steak at Costco. Feels great in the hand and super sharp out of the box. Easily cut a dozen steaks to shrink wrap and freeze to help reduce the cost of eating steak.

Really great knife! I also bought the set of 3 and they all work great! If you want sturdy sharp knives I would definitely recommend.

Knife is top notch and really sharp

This knife is a beauty. Perfect for cutting a slab of meat into smaller portions. Be careful, this one super sharp but it comes with a protective sleeve and tip.

Did my first attempt at cutting whole beef and this thing is extremely sharp when thru it like butter. Love the look as well hope it holds up my buy more of this brand.
