Setup was intuitive. You must use both devices though it appears, not just the one pictured, so an extra USB port is also required. Fortunately, my projector has a spare. My Windows 10 i5 Laptop transmits video and sound reliably to my projector via this device that I keep plugged in to a secondary HDMI port. There have been a few small glitches but nothing that has caused any concern. The signal goes over 2.4GHz which is generally becoming congested. a 5Ghz version would, I imagine, overcome any glitches in a busy city. Countryside use sees no glitches at all. Fully recommended for the price.

Initially this was OK to set up, I haven't used it too much. But when I did it was easy to use and mirror the screen on a tablet. Unfortunately, after six months limited use, it's now just stopped working with a black screen. Contacted the seller - still waiting - but normally I'd contact Amazon as it was fulfilled by them, but for some reason I can't. Bit of a waste of money.... Update : seller was very helpful and replied to emails, they also replaced the dongle - but this one is worse than the original one, works for a bit then stops. Good seller - bad product.

Usable to make wireless presentations from Ipad/iPhone but otherwise I had following issues with video streaming and screen mirroring (tried with iPhone 7, iPad Pro not Android) - Did not physically fit into one of 4 HDMI sockets on my Samsung TV although no physical obstruction - lost WiFi router settings after unplugging - Youtube - sound out of sync with picture or no sound at all - intermittent issues connecting for screen mirroring (sometimes worked, sometimes not) - tring to set up Chromecast using Google Home app, it opens Chrome app and tries to send me to a questionable web site which is a site blocked by my parental control - instructions are poorly translated to English, hard to understand NB: Netflix etc does NOT work on iPhone/iPad but this is stated in description

This is the perfect tool of you need to mirror a video or photo from your mobile to a big screen. The installation instructions is displayed in the television and it makes it easy to sinc. Now I start watching Netflix or other video app in the mobile, which is easier to type that mirror it to the television where my whole family can watch together. One of the best feature is that everyone using the same WiFi in the house can mirror their files to the tv as well without installation once the dongle is already working in the tv!

I have been pleased with this HDMI dongle so far. This is essentially a cheaper alternative to google chromecast so I was interested to see how well it worked. I have a projector and have wanted to cast my phone wirelessly to it rather than having to connect leads up so decided to try out this dongle. One difference between this and the google chromecast I have to point out is that it has extra cables. This dongle requires power and won't work by just plugging it into a HDMI port. There is an extra USB cable which has the WiFi adaptor that needs to be plugged into the dongle and a power source. This could be a USB port on your TV or projector or a wall socket. Setting up was pretty straight forward. Connect the dongle to a power source and connect to the WiFi network it transmits. I did find it took around a minute before the WiFi network became visible. Once you are connected, connect to the IP address on the back of the packaging and follow the steps to connect the dongle to your home WiFi network. Then disconnect power from the dongle and connect it up to your TV or projector and you are good to go. Now whenever you are connected to the dongle WiFi it automatically connects to your home network. So when ever you cast and stream something from your phone it will use your home WiFi rather than your mobile network data. I use localCast app on my phone and it has worked well with this device. I did find once the HDMI dongle updated its software it renamed itself 'Rockchip Media Renderer 1.0' so connect to this when searching and have DLNA Renderers activated in your discovery options. If you don't care about using your mobile data then you don't have to worry about the above steps and can just connect the dongle to any device to make it wireless and just mirror your phone screen. Time will tell how good this hdmi dongle is, but for the time being I am pleased with this cheaper alternative although bit annoyed with the requirement of the extra cable.

Finally. After trying more than 10 different products I finally manged, with this device to connect wirelessly my Samsung Tab S3 to a generic TV to mirror the screen of the Tab S3. Finally I can use it also for presentations and big screen discussions also using the S-Pen. Brilliant! I had tried several cables and converters to discover that the Tab S3 does not support MHL (hence no cable possible) so the only way was via wireless. However all other wireless dongles required that I connect to a WiFi router (e.g. Chromecast dongle, miracast, etc.). This one has a mode (DLNA maybe) that does not require logging into a router. This is perfect for a road warrior. Brilliant, thank you. Thank you also for delivering it on time and in perfect order. The manual was on the light side but I got connected to the TV in seconds.

Using product on a Sony Bravia with iPhone XSMax as source. Although screen will mirror phone screen it will not play movies using Netflix app at all. It momentarily plays via Amazon Videos app and will play BBC iPlayer when viewing through Safari but the picture is poor quality and it jitters and pauses constantly making it unwatchable. Perhaps there is a firmware upgrade or setting I am misunderstanding but as an 'out of the box plug and play' device it scores poorly.

The design of the box is very useful if you want as apresent or gift, it opens like a book and you can see the shape of the dongle cut out so you can see the real product before opening the box. As for how it works, I have to say it's simple. The really important thing is that the device you want to link has the option of mirror. I've tried it on my TV in my projector and in both it has worked well from my phone but not from my computer because it does not have this possibility. I thought that any computer could connect but it is not like that. Keep it in mind before buying it.

Si quieres ver las imagenes de tu telefono/tablet/ordenador en la tele y no quieres cables por el medio, este articulo es lo que necesitas. Simplemente necesitas conectarlo a una toma HDMI de tu tele y a una alimentacion USB (bien de la tele o de un cargador estandar) y listo. Yo lo he probado con mi iphone y con la tablet y se conecta super rapido. Lo he usado con youtube y algunos juegos, y la verdad es que la calidad de imagen y la rapidez de refresco son sorprendentes, ya que no hay retraso entre el movil y la tele. Hay que tener el movil encendido, ya que si se bloquea, pierde la conexion, pero si vas a ver una peli larga, o bien dejas el movil enchufado al cargador, o te aseguras que tiene suficiente bateria.
