Good bit ot kit
Nice exercise tracker, no gps and no subscription for basic functionality. Shows which times of day my dog is most active for, steps, calories, total distance and a breakdown of how many of total minutes were running, walking, and pottering

the best dog fitness tracker on the market
Absolutely LOVE the product! The product is easy to set up. I just attached the tracker to my dog's collar and downloaded the app. The tracker integrates to the app with a simple click. Auto-sync would be a nice feature but that's not a big issue for us. What we've found most convenient so far is that we never have to charge the device. Nowadays, it feels like we have to charge everything: laptops, phones, airpods, etc. Apparently this device has a year-long battery life. I'll update my review after we fully test out the battery. Either way, it runs on CR2032 battery which you can buy for 2 quid for a pack of 6. Not the end of the world. The app shares information on what your pup has been up to like walking, running, playing, etc. It even tells you its activity throughout the day. We've always wondered what our dog is up to during the day when we're at work. It seems like he's sleeping most of the time! We signed up for their £4/month subscription service which is a rewards program for dogs. You gain points for doing things you would have done anyway like walking your dog. You can redeem the points for free dog toys and you also gain access to discounted dog food! We're gaining more than £4/month value from the program so it's definitely worth it. Overall, I think it's a fun product and it's really built for dog owners. If you need a GPS tracker, go with tractive or something else. If you're looking for a fitness tracker, get pitpat.

Helping our dogs health as well as making paid dog walker accountable and identifying scam
We purchased a Pitpat because we were concerned about our pets increasing weight, despite being walked for a minimum of 1 to 1.5 hour per day by a professional dog walker, plus walks we would do as a family. Despite this our dogs weight was ever increasing. We checked Pitpat accuracy against walks we did as a family and it was 99% accurate re walks, running, pottering etc. We advised our dog walker that dogs fitted with an activity tracker, it turned out our paid dog walker who we used for a number of years, was actually during the week only walking our dogs for only 10 to 20 mins with rest of time in back of their van, whilst they collected or took out more dogs. This dog walker had been recently rated by our local authority as excellent !!. So Pitpat is now helping us get our dogs healthy and it has helped us identify an unscrupulous untrustworthy dog walker, who we have now finished with. Maybe not want PitPat was intended for, but it can be used to help weed out those unprofessional dog walkers. We told our dog walker our dog had activity tracker on collar, but they just did not appear to be clued up, as to what PitPat can do. For those who use paid dog walkers, a PitPat may give added assurance to pet owners, particularly as dog walkers in the UK operated in a quite unregulated industry the UK. We are glad we purchased the PitPat, saddened our trust has been abused by this dog walker, but at least now we can get our dogs on a healthy path, check their actual exercise, which we thought they were actually getting each day, but were not. On the negative, we do find the App falls over from time to time, but overall it is good.

Valuable and useful insight into your dog's activity
I bought our PitPat on recommendation of a friend who used his to manage the daily activity of his working Cocker Spaniel. Initially we bought ours out of curiosity but when our dog Tolly began to fall ill as a puppy it was useful to be able to present a decline in his activity to the vet. Tolly was diagnosed with a form of meningitis which he suffered 7 times in his first year. Now symptom-free and in remission from the disease the steroid course had taken a toll and saw his weight go up from 26kg to 31kg. He was put on a weight management plan with a metabolic diet, but it was the exercise, combined with the information provided by the PitPat that made the difference. He lost 4kg in 6 weeks which the veterinary nurse just couldn't believe, but when I showed her the data from the PitPat on the phone app she was really impressed with it. PitPat is a brilliant product - so easy to use once set up, looks great (people often ask what it is), is super light-weight and very small so it doesn't get in the way of Tolly's activity. We have it attached to his harness, so it only records the formal exercise he does. He doesn't wear a collar because his fur is taking a long time to regrow after a lumbar puncture. We love the awards and badges Tolly picks up from PitPat in recognition of the work he is putting in and as a bit of a gadget geek I love the detail of the data provided. The accuracy of the device is of course difficult to gauge but in day-to-day comparisons it is easy to spot progress - and big achievements!

Novelty, average, meh....
We got a PitPat after Christmas for our Springer Spaniel (Spencer). It fits nicely and securely on to his collar no problems. The velcro is very strong. He doesn’t mind wearing it at all and doesn’t bother him The accuracy is questionable, the app is clunky and the most anything thing is that it does not automatically sync, you have to process the button on the pit pat each time. This means you can’t remotely track the dogs activity. It does give you an idea of how much/or little the dog has done, but it’s not exactly FitBit equivalent (or even anywhere near) In short, it’s a nice novelty, and not that much money.

Inaccurate stopped recording fast walks
Small and compact for his collar. Wanted to track how much further he went than me off lead. First week I got it worked fine. Showed he went a lot further than me sniffing. Then I started doing fast walks and it failed. Didn’t record the whole walk. It was as if my dog hadn’t walked at all. Didn’t even record him as being still just no data. On slow walking showed him running for the whole walk. Did a test walk with it in my pocket walking slow. Showed I had walked a lot less distance than my smart watch. Checked the battery with my electric meter and it was at full power. The app didn’t allow me to change from miles to kilometres and it added all the walks together in one day. I guess I would have had to subscribe to the extra features of the app to gain this which wasn’t a cheap monthly subscription. The supplied Velcro was so short to get it to go round his collar with the suggested overlap I would have had to buy their extra kit containing a bit of longer double sided Velcro in a fancy box for a lot of money. I bought for just a bit more a pack of re-useable Velcro cable ties which worked just as well and I had a lot left for other jobs. So in conclusion this was an expensive inaccurate bit of kit for the money. I would have expected the longer Velcro to be included in the box with the device, the device to be more accurate and the free aspect of the app to be able to switch between miles and kilometres at the very least. Poor quality I would take your hard earned money elsewhere. After three weeks of use mine was returned.

Love this little gadget!
This is probably one of the best things I’ve ever bought from Amazon. I’ve got a very active Labrador, and was curious to know, just how much further than she me walked when running in the fields, etc. I already had a pedometer for myself, but suspected she did a lot more. She certainly does that! There’s no subscription for the basic functions, walking, running, playing, etc., you set it up by telling it your dog’s breed, etc., and it is really simple to use. Every so often you will be awarded ‘badges’ and told what the equivalent in walking would be. I haven’t had my PitPat very long, and she’s already walked from London to Edinburgh! It’s is a constant source of amusement every day. I fully recommend it for all dog owners who enjoy a walk with their best friend!

Query the accuracy
Had one of these for our cocker spaniel for several years and works really well. Got this one for a 9 month springer spaniel and are not finding it particularly accurate. First day said she had done over 12 miles which was not possible, have altered by about 50% and seems more in keeping with what she’s doing, but this wasn’t necessary on previous one. Hopefully it will settle to her and give more accuracy

Teleurstellend!
