Great for the price. 1080p has never been this lush.
A great Intro to 3d glasses. 1080p at 120hz Its now one of the best ways to watch Netflix and use the Fire TV Stick. It has two audio channels. To hear audio over HDMI, press and hold the +ve part of the long button until you hear it beep twice. A single beep via the +ve part of the long button puts the glasses into 3D mode. You can swap between controlling the brightness and controlling the volume by pressing the -ve part of the long button. Press untill you hear a single beep. Edit: I have now upgraded to the 1s. Which features a very convincing 2d to 3d conversion in the glasses ;0)

Fantastic as a take anywhere monitor, but...
I didn't get the Beam attachemnt, which has been discontinued in favour of Beam Pro, which is a bit pricey. I bought these glasses just as a monitor, and to see if they were any good. I was expecting to send them back if I was underwhelmed with them. As a replacement monitor on Windows 11 they are very usable and excellent build quality. The image is crystal clear. 3D videos look great. The sound is also very good. Just plug in and they work. (Usb-C PD connector) Where you will see other people having cripes or problems with image quality stems from the fact that you need to pay another £95 (or ish) for prescription lenses to go into them if you need reading glasses. I use glasses. Without these lenses the image is simply blurry and causes eye strain. I am lucky that I can wear my own glasses and have these Air 2 glasses on (not ideal but perfectly OK) so can get away with not buying the extra prescription lenses to fit into the Air 2. With my own glasses on the image is stunning, very clear, but if you do not position them really well you might miss the top or bottom of the image (just a few pixels) or the left or right areas might become a little out of focus. If I position the glasses really well, the image becomes great. People who do not use glasses should see a crystal clear image, however a lot of people need (or could do with using) glasses but they dont - these people might find the AIR 2 image isnt quite as good as as advertised. Its really important that your eyesight is good, or that you use prescription lenses with Air 2 to get the best out of it. It can do more with the Beam Pro - I haven't tried. There are apps like Xreal Neubla (and 3rd party ones) which unlock other features instead of using Beam, but these are either flakey, lack features or simply wont work with Windows. Most of them weren't finished or like Nebula have been abandoned recently. The Android / Mac Apps might be great - no idea - their apps apparently unlock more features. For it to work on a mobile your phone must be able to output the video via its USB port. Most phones can't do this (Samsung Galaxy S rs ange can) If you have a USB-C DP port on your device (PS5 etc) then these glasses act as a great large view monitor that you can take anywhere. (Acts as a 30" monitor). I use them to watch 3D video and normal videos - fantastic. I paid £245 with a voucher - £289 is too much and they will stop seeling them soon (hence why they stop selling Beam). I think the vouchers are being used to shift old stock. At £245 what you get is a convenient good quality 120Hz (60/90hz also) monitor and will be great for gamers. I used them for almost 6 hrs straight and only had mild eye strain - these type of things can take some getting used to. Not much funtionality (its a fancy monitor with 3D ability). Can't be adjusted much apart from sitting on your face adjustments, but they are very light and comfortable. Can use them in daylight (indoors) perfectly well, but better using the black out covers supplied or in a darkened room. For AR glasses they dont seem too big to me. Very very easy to use (just plug them in. To put in 3D mode press a button. Brightness can be adjusted, press buttons). Changing volume is best done on the laptop/phone/PS5 unless you put the glasses button into a different mode and then instead of brightness controls they become volume controls. Image quality is miles better than my Meta Quest 2 headset. Be under no illusion - what you are buying is a monitor for your face - that is it - ignore AR unless you have the right phone or buy Beam Pro. Then you might have to buy prescription lenses (I looked and they were £95 extra + eye test fees). If you want more functionality (getting into AR) other than a wonderful monitor you'll be buying a Xreal Beam Pro (£240 on their website). If you only have HDMI output on your PC you'll need to buy another attachment (HDMI to USB-C £35 unless you buy a Beam). Plus HDMI attachments/converters don't always supply power to the USB-C so make sure you research which one to buy. [Update] I came back to add. Running steam VR with a RTX 3050 Ti based laptop and the HDMI to USB-C PD adapter that was advertised as an AR headset adapter doesn't appear to work (not yet). Steam VR says that it doesn't see my headset which is in 3D mode and is working. The glasses used as just a monitor - fantastic. The glasses as a 3D video viewer (fantastic providing the video is in the correct resolution - most aren't). The glasses for 3D games - troublesome. Also, although the HDMI to USB-C converter works and sees the Air 2 as a sound output the sound doesn't work with this HDMI comverter so research which one does (I can't find one that definitely works). It might be that I'll get Steam VR working (Meta Quest VR headset was also troublesome) with the Air 2 glasses but converting HDMI ports to powered USB-C displays is not easy to pick the right product. 3D is not easy to get working from Windows 11. I'm no mug at this computer stuff and these these are troublesome to make work. I reduced by a star. I wont send these glasses back because I want them as a monitor, they are very good quality, but if you want extra features like virtual workspaces that require an App, or you want 3D games I am sure there are other glasses that are easier to get working. (I note that XReal have also stopped selling the Air 2 Pro glasses. Presumably Beam Pro will soon end). This is an end of life product that will not get bug fixes or features enhanced.

WOW! An Ally for the ROG Ally!
Theese are superb. The brightness of the OLED, colours and. Contrast, sharpness is something else. I did buy the XREAL Beam and I feel it's a necessary add on.. .I feel.for.the price though it should have been included as you need it to "pin" the image in place rather than follow where your looking. It's fine without but for gaming it's a much better experience having it pinned so you can look around easier. Very happy with them though. It's plug and play with my rog ally. And also was plug and play with my mum's laptop that has usb-C. It currently doesn't support Google pixel phones. But works withy iPad. With them being OLED. They use far far less battery than the ROG Ally's LED screen so it last longer. There is no battery inside the glasses that are powered by the device it's attached to. Or the beam if you get that. If you get the beam, the ROG ally will last even longer as it's not powering any display. Downside I'd say is it's expensive, and the best functionality should be included. As it gives the XREAL air 2's it's full functionality. Not only that look how Cool I look wear them hehe 🤗

Good quality but feels like a prototype.
The glasses themselves seem to be well built, the picture quality is good and they are well packaged. I was a bit disappointed that the case didn't have a separate compartment for the cable as shown in the YouTube reviews. The biggest issue is the tricky nature of their connectivity and beta apps for Windows and OSX. I have tried many devices as below: Samsung S23 Works fine but works amazingly well on DEX mode as you can watch programmes and still use the phone. Steam Deck Works perfectly - this is brilliant Apple Mac OSX Downloaded the app and couldn't get them to work on the first day. I tried again and did them working - it's important to make sure the glasses are setup as an extension rather than an independent display. I have a wide monitor on my Mac and that isn't good for this - the resulting virtual monitors copy this resolution and are too difficult to read. I plugged a portable USB monitor in and disconnected the ultra wide monitor and this gave a much more useful resolution. I think this happens because the app mirrors the screen to make it work. This could probably be improved in future. Windows 10 laptop I tired 2 laptops. The first was my personal laptop but I got nothing from that. I think the USB C may not be DP compatible. (Definitely check this on any devices you plan to use it on as not all phones or laptops are compatible). My work laptop wouldn't allow me to use the software due to system restrictions but it provided an excellent second screen for working. I couldn't try my gaming PC as it doesn't have USB C yet and not tested on my work iPhone as it won't use it on there. I also don't have the adaptors. Battery life impact I am certain that the battery life of the devices you use will be a real constraint - especially my phone. It desperately needs a cable to allow USB power injection as it blocks the charging port as most devices only have 1 USB C. It's been a really difficult decision as I was considering returning as they seemed a bit buggy - I am glad I persevered though and decided to keep them. Price is high for something that seems still to be a prototype stage but the quality is good.

Blurred, cropped edges
So, I couldn't wait to use these with the Steam Deck however I have a few grips which I will outline below and why I would not recommend this product -Ghosting, unclear display at certain locations on the screen - Edges are blurred out and not crisp -To manipulate the screen, you need to invest in an additional Beam (£100+) - Adjustability is minimal - Not suitable for glasses use, they inform you about the partner to create and order lenses, but these are at a MASSIVE premium considering how cheap lenses are online these days - Advertised 130' screen size (simulated) No....If you hold your deck at a conventional distance away from your face, you wont see any improvement - now this would change (could) if you invest in a beam as you can create a larger display canvas ....however that comes with additional investment alongside losing some of the refresh rate (modes move the refresh down from 120, to 72?) -No functionality with Windows - Their website is saying virtual desktop is coming soon. - For me, the dark lens attachment would not remain in situ well, it kept coming off over exposing your lenses and making you have to pause whatever you are doing to reattach. I wanted to love these, I really did but it came with such an underwhelming disappointment. I guess bigger physical screens are here to stay...for me at least. It seems youtubers LOVE these glasses, however I feel this has been impacted by them receiving a free pair - which I think has had a massive impact on the love they have received - The cost is simply quite high for a product with the above issues

Unexpectedly brilliant
I saw these demonstrated on YouTube and thought they would be great to watch videos streamed from my phone in my motorhome. However my expectations were not high having tried a VR headset before and was prepared to try them and send them back as unsuitable. How wrong I was! These are absolutely brilliant. The HD picture quality is pin sharp and colours rich and vibrant. I was fooled by the website and disappointed not to be able to download the iPhone app. Once I received the glasses I found out why - there IS not iPhone app, they just work. Straight out of the box. I have a new iPhone 15 with USB C so I plugged the glasses in and Wow! I was immediately presented with a "virtual" display floating in front of me. Turning the phone into landscape mode turned the display as well. Playing a Netflix video was everything I had hoped for (and didn't expect). It was like watching a huge HD display. Even the sound was great with really good stereo separation. I was expecting to have to use my Airpods but there is really no need. Results on my iPad were just as good. On my Macbook Air I used the available app and was blown away by having three virtual monitors floating in front of me, visible just by turning my head left and right. The past couple of nights I've taken them to bed and watched Netflix while lying on my back - wonderful. All in all these way exceeded my expectations and will definitely be staying.

Pretty good but not perfect
Bought these to mainly watch youtube whilst lying down in bed and im pleasantly surprised at how good the image and sound quality are. They arnt really ar glasses without the expensive beam addon as out of the box you just get a large screen superimposed on the background to various degrees depending on brightness settings and whether you fit the blackout cover. The beam addon that gives you proper anchored displays is way too expensive so I won't be getting one any time soon. I tried hooking these up to my phone and tablet but both did nothing, only higher end devices support video over usb and mine unfortunately didn't. Undeterred I hooked them up to my chromebook and they worked immediately. PROS: Very good image quality for the most part. Excellent audio although they are open ear so others can hear what you are listening to. Comfy enough for prolonged use after a bit of fiddling with the nose clips and arms. CONS: No documentation that tells you how to use them is included and the qr code goes nowhere helpful. You will need to do a few Google searches to suss out how to use them properly. No ipd adjustment which in my case resulted in the very bottom left of the image being blurry. Not a deal breaker for watching media as its barely noticeable but not ideal for a windows desktop or app that displays info there. I havnt used the 3d function so cant comment on that. So in conclusion, these are pretty good for having a big screen in front of your eyes to watch youtube etc but be aware that they arnt really ar glasses without proper 6dof without that addon. EDIT: i have been using these for a few weeks now and can better review them. The screen corner blurriness was fixed by bending the nose clips a bit which positioned the screens perfectly for my eyes and resulted in a nice sharp edge to edge image. There is sometimes a blueish tinged line to the very edge of the screen when the display has mostly white content, not sure why but it's barely noticeable anyway. I tried out the 3d function with some sbs youtube videos and was very impressed by the clarity of the 3d image but less impressed by the fact it combines the 2 sbs images into a square in the middle of the display rather than stretching it to fill the entire screen. I'm guessing it's just something to do with the videos resolution and how the glasses combine the images but it would be great to have an option to stretch out the screen. I'm very happy with these glasses, been using them a lot sitting in the garden where they work great with a solid clear image wheras the screen on the laptop it's connected too is unusable due to the suns brightness.

Really needs IPD adjustment, biggest problem with the device!
Picture 1 shows the Air 1 (at the top), compared to the Air 2 (at the bottom), in particular the optics, which you'll see are a lot smaller on the Air 2, causing all sorts of problems. The other pic just shows the packaging, which isn't very good at all. There are some issues that i'll be clear about straight away, things to bare in mind 1 - heavy, particularly on your nose (I'm a Quest 3 VR user, and was surprised to consider that to be more comfortable with an adapted strap). Mostly only an issue on account of the pressure being very focussed on the bridge of your nose specifically. It's just a little irksome! 2 - the nose cushions slip around, on account of that weight, often messing with the view. I've gone with the small size, on by big nose, as it keeps it in place, however I seem to pay the price with a degree of extra pressure on the nose. 3 - NO IPD ADJUSTMENT AT ALL! This is a problem for people like me with 72mm distance between both pupils. Because of this, in all cases (with or without contacts in) my right side is more blurry than the left, getting into focus only when I close the left eye, and shift the headset towards my right side, which then makes the left side blurry, when fixed in that position. It's taken me ages to find a solution, using the small nose cushions, I've bent the right one inwards more, which appears to have sorted this out to some extent, though not enough really. Took me a while to get something sorted though, and still isn't quite right! I HAVE NOW PURCHASED THE ORIGINAL AIRs, WHICH ARE MUCH BETTER TO PEER THROUGH - SLIGHTLY BIGGER BIRDBATH OPTICS, SEE PIC, WHICH MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE 4 - day time reflections on the inside of the lens. There's no point trying to use these at all in the day, as the reflection of your clothing in the screen is very distracting. The light block ideally needs to come closer to your face, and block a little extra at the sides, which it doesn't do! I CAN SEE IT IS CLOSER TO YOUR FACE THAT THE AIR ONE, BUT THERE ARE STILL REFLECTIONS 5 - The Nebula app is good for linking your device to your phone. The features as far as Android to the headset are concerned are painfully limited though, as far as apps within the app go. Doesn't let you sign into Youtube for some odd reason, google refusing to work with the browser for some reason. However, if you put movies onto your phone, mp4, mkv, etc... it's really good, via the TV app, at least while watching something. Having said that, however, this isn't doable for everyone, aside from home videos. The best option is the follow screen theatre mode, which is so much better than what you otherwise get care of Netflix, etc. It's a little disorientating though. Some degree of comfort while wearing the device, and watching something with that option, but looking at my still computer screen now I'm feeling a little woozy, which seems odd. I have also watched in anchor mode, and making the screen expand just a little beyond the field of view can be quite nice, however the blur on the ear sided edge of each eye is still horrible. I must say though that the nebula app has lots of problems. Sometimes won't let me select folders or movie files, and I have to press repeatedly before the request is activated. Otherwise good stuff, but I'm struggling with these in many ways. If you're IPD is less that 70mm, and perhaps more than 63mm, I would expect the image would be very good indeed. I have had to purchase the original Air, further to hearing the birdbath optics were bigger, and they are, enough to make adjustments more accessible. I have to push the Air 2 very close to my face to see something of a clear line at the edge of the screen (ear side, both sides), however don't have to do that at all with the original Airs. Admittedly there is a little blur at the sides, with the Air 1, but nothing like the Air 2, making this a significiant downgrade. Where there isn't blur the screen is pin-sharp, towards the nose, especially with movies. Black levels are also good! Netflix, Prime, and Disney plus, anything like that really, play only from their own apps, and open up in to a nice-sized screen, filling a space that, relatively speaking, equals that of a cinema size screen at a good distance, at least a distance that means you can see all four corners of the screen without moving your head. This, so far is the only thing I've done with the device, and I would say it's good for that kind of thing at the very least, altough the screen follows your head, which doesn't seem particularly natural, and not in the gentel manner it does within the nebula app. You need to get that £100+ to be able to adjust the screen in apps like Netflix and Disney+. My IPD issue is very very evident on anything widescreen, but on 4:3 ratio movies not so much, being more square, with a very central point of focus - Saltburn was a good tester for this. Though not so bad now, having fiddled with the adjustable nose cushions, there is notable blurring at the edges, which can be off-putting. The speakers are fine. No real low end, but a decent, clear sound that doesn't suffer without the low end. THE SPEAKERS ARE MUCH BETTER THAN THOSE ON THE ORIGINAL AIR, THE ONLY MEANINGFUL UPGRADE. In any case, they're certainly worth a shot. I think, without the IPD problem, the viewing experience for movies is better than my Quest 3 (grey LCD, low blacks), which also gives off a lot of light bloom into the lenses. These lenses do have a little glare, but that is far better than light bloom. I would say, for movies, this is a superior choice, compared to other headsets. However the birdbath optics drastically affect the viewing experience for people with larger IPD measurements, which is much better accomodated on the original air, with larger bird bath optics. In any case, I would expect if your IPD (pupil distance) is between 63 and 70mm, these should be quite accessible for you. I've seen people complain at length, particularly with IPD less than 63mm, though I haven't read many concerns over 70mm, but there's a problem with my eyes at 72mm. There's not a lot of information available to enable you to know these will be a good fit ahead of buying, though I guess most people would be okay. These would be good for travel, either in motion or staying in a hotel (if alone). I've been traveling recently with my Quest 3, for watching movies and stuff like that, but it's heavy, and takes up a lot of space, these things however occupy the space of a large glasses case, and that's it. I did previously give a 5 star review, which now seems far too generous, to be honest, on account of the setup difficulties I had, and as much as I've been able to get around some of those problems, to an extent that seemed manageable, I am however constantly having to readjust the glasses. The original AIRs were fine out of the box, less blur at the ear side edges, much less, and easier to watch. I will sacrifice sound quality, and loose 100 nits (screen brightess), but because the original Airs have more forgiving optics, and I have really struggled with these, I am now sending these back. GREAT GREAT CONCEPT, but they're missfiring in all manner of ways, with consideration to the reduced birdbath optics size. Amazingly great visuals, in the right circumstances, however, the adjustment options are distractingly limited. Annoying the PRO wasn't available (which blocks light with the push of a button), however in a dark room, or with the dark lens cover you shouldn't have too many issues with light. I have however noticed, more recently, when trying to use the glasses during the day, that with the dark cover on, your clothing is reflected in the main lenses, which causes a big problem, especially when trying to use these in the day, light blocker or not. This has drastically affected my initial feelings about the device, especially in comparison to the original airs, which arrived today, and have been subject to much comparison - better sound for air 2, horrible optic adjustments. Visual downgrade, which makes no sense at all. I understand this was to save about 5-10gs in weight. They got their priorities mixed up with the "upgrade." The new box is also horribly flimsy, the original a lot more sturdy, and very easy to reassemble. Having to send the Air 2s back, but this box doesn't shut tightly, also shown in the pics. It will also drain the phone battery quickly - worth taking note of that. This is because the phone screen is also on, the glasses quite simply mirroring it. Bit of a pain. There are workarounds I'm sure, but have so far only seen expensive USB-C double input adapters.

Works as intended with the X/Nreal AR glasses
This adapter works as expected with the AR glasses I bought from Nreal, essentially all it does is convert type C display port from out of the glasses into whatever HDMI output you need, whether that’s to adapt it into your lightning/display port adapter for your iOS device, or to hook it up to an HDMI cable for your desktop, laptop, or other console. Works good, solid quality so far most impressed.

My 2nd one
They stole My first one out of my rental car I don’t get why they stole this cause they need the glasses but anyway it’s really annoying how expensive this charging adapter is and the worse part is that it takes so long to deliver but works great for iphone wish they had nebulas set up

Using this with a steam deck and dock lets u use the glasses continuously!
Getting this adapter let’s u use the steam deck with the glasses then charge the deck on the dock and use this adapter to the steam dock to keep using the glasses. Also pairs with a hdmi to,lightning apple adapter to hook up to apple devices!

Works as advertised - nice for iPhone and Switch
I have the Nreal Light and Air glasses and have used them with Android and Mac for a while. I decided to get the adapter for HDMI and iOS recently. I am impressed with how well this works. It’s simple: it makes a heads up display for the glasses. No frills or augmented reality. Just a nice big display. And it works.
