This controller is the answer.
If you've never owned an 8Bitdo controller, you're missing out. Typically we don't see and feel quality when we hold an aftermarket controller, but 8Bitdo is the exception to the rule! The good feel and feedback of the buttons, the durability that withstands children tossing them around, the thumbsticks holding up and not drifting, the comfort in hand... this controller has it all! I have four 8Bitdo controllers in various styles and every single one of them not only LOOKS nice, but more importantly, they function well and last a long time. This one has been used for a Nintendo Switch and has worked flawlessly. I asked my daughter what she had to say about them and she said... "great controller". Few words (lol) but she means what she says. After going through so many replacements... THIS controller was the answer.

The best controller for casual gamers
I'm a casual gamer. I don't play online third person shooters or anything super intense, but I'm big on finding products that offer good quality for the price. If you're a casual gamer like me, I can't imagine why you'd buy any controller but this one. It's solid and well-made, has good battery life, and offers some premium features like rumble vibration and the ability to turn on the Switch. The textured grip feels nice, and it's comfortably sized for both me (an adult with average hands) and my 5-year-old son. The buttons and triggers feel really great to press, and in general I just enjoy using it. Sure, there are few bells and whistles that some gamers will want (programmable buttons, etc). and I REALLY wish they'd release the Bluetooth/Switch version of this with Hall effect joysticks like they have with the 2.4G version. But this is a very solid basic controller that does everything I need it to and does it really well, all for a somewhat unbelievable price. I've bought two of these, and if I need a third I'll buy another (or if they release it with Hall effect joysticks).

Better Than the "Pro Controller"?
Functions just as good as the pro controller and better Ironically, the Nintendo "pro controller" is notorious for having a horrible D-pad despite the fact that Nintendo was the literal innovators of the patent over 40 years ago. How is the "pro controller" 's D-pad so bad? Any old school 2-D platformer OR fighting game fan will tell you how important it is to press Left and not also go Up or Down. Or Press Down and not also be pressing diagonally to the Right or Left. This is the glaring flaw in the official and too expensive pro controller. This 8bitdo Ultimate C controller has a D-pad that works as good as Nintendo's USE to work. It also has gyro (motion) controls and all the buttons are easy to navigate due to their placement. It's super easy to sync to your Switch, has a long battery life, feels good in the hands and built well.. I had to buy 4 other Switch controllers until I found this one. It's better than Nintendo's own controller and it's half the price. I never thought that I'd be saying that one day, but it's true. For those frustrated with the official Nintendo Pro Controller's bad D-Pad, buy this instead. Easily 5 Shining Stars.

In regards to powering on the Switch remotely
I asked a question here before purchasing, and got a few different answers, but none of them quite got it right, so I'd like to clarify now that I've got my hands on one. The 8BitDo Ultimate C controller can indeed 'wake up' the Switch instantly. First, you must push the Home button to turn the controller on, then just give it a little shake, and it powers right on. Very convenient. Keep in mind, in the Switch's TV settings, you have to have "Match TV Power State" turned On, as well as having this feature enabled on the TV itself. Absolutely a bargain at this price point. Fantastic controller all around. Bluetooth stayed connected in every room of the house, and even outside on the porch. Just played a few rounds of Splatoon 3 and the motion controls worked flawlessly. The only complaint I can think of is that sometimes light vibrations come through as strong rumbles, but its not enough to dissuade me in the slightest.

Solid and Inexpensive option for Switch (and Mac)
If you're considering the 8Bitdo Ultimate C Bluetooth Controller for your gaming needs, especially with the Nintendo Switch, here's a straightforward breakdown after three months of use: Build and Design: The controller is notably lighter than those from Sony or Xbox, which might initially suggest a lesser build quality. However, its construction doesn't compromise on sturdiness and durability. Ergonomics: The controller is designed for extended gaming comfort, outperforming the default Switch controllers in terms of how it feels in your hands during long gaming periods. Connectivity: Be prepared for a bit of a learning curve with the initial setup, as the controller's pairing process with the Switch isn't immediately obvious. Compatibility: Remember, if you connect the controller to a different device, you'll need to re-pair it with the Switch before using it again, which is a slight inconvenience. Features: Equipped with Bluetooth, 6-axis motion control, a robust battery offering 16 hours of play from a two-hour charge, and responsive non-linear digital triggers, the controller is technically well-endowed. Color Options: It comes in various colors like Pink, Blue, and Orange, giving you some personalization with your gaming setup. Overall: The 8Bitdo Ultimate C Bluetooth Controller is a solid choice for those seeking a reliable and user-friendly controller for the Switch. Despite a few hitches in connectivity and initial setup, its ergonomic design and range of features make it a strong contender in the market. This controller is a commendable option for any Nintendo Switch user who values comfort and functionality in their gaming accessories, proving itself over several months of consistent use.

Somit volle 5 Sterne!!

Fantastic quality. I would say that it is on par with the original control. Responsive and economics are spot on, not that you would expect anything less from this company. I found it refreshing that there is a company out there trying to strive and create products that benefit our pockets. They create something that rivals these original console controls. I believe they are pushing the boundaries of what has been a norm for a while. I feel like this opens the boundaries that are created by some of these companies that hold onto their profits. Quite simply, I believe every company deserves a bit of the pie. I’d like to see an underdog benefit. It seems like a very closed off environment at the moment with tech behemoth capitalising on the market, incorporating their influences on compatibility between products. Forcing us all into the ecosphere. Also, the price was way more palatable compared to the original.
