Worked well as a temporary partial solution to holding tank sensor problems. But no substitute for a professional cleaning, Like most RV owners, I thought when I drained my black water tank all the nastiness drained out - until I had a professional cleaning and discovered how much disgusting stuff had been lingering in my tanks just under my dining table! Advice for RV owners - even if you have full connections, don't open your black water valve until your tank is at least 2/3 full. If it's not 2/3 by the time you are ready to break camp, just add water to the toilet until you get to 2/3 or more and then open the black water valve to drain. I close my gray water valve the day before breaking camp so that I can open it after draining the black water to flush the drain hose with the gray water. Otherwise, if you have the valve open, when you use the toilet, the liquids drain out immediately leaving the solids (toilet paper and poop) in your tank . And then come the sewer flies whose larva turns into worms and just becomes more and more disgusting! (This only takes a few weeks.) Have your tanks professionally cleaned at least once per year if you use your toilet for #2! Between professional cleanings this product will help. When using this, it's best to put it in the toilet with water before you head out on your journey and the drive will "slosh" it around in the tank to help with scouring. Then drain the tank before setting up camp.

This stuff is amazing! I use it once every 6 months or so in my black tank since as a full-time RV-er it can build up very easily even with very active rinsing with every black tank draining. Since I move every six months I just put this in before I go and when I arrive to my next destination I'm amazed how much nasty liquid sludge comes out.

I had great hopes for this product after reading all the glowing reviews and the assurance of a money back guarantee printed on the back of the container. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed. I have been trying hard to get the sensors to read properly for weeks. I have had some success with various combinations of water softeners Calgon and Boraxo paired with detergents Dawn and Tide. Progress has been slow. I usually can see some thin, black flakes up to the size of a quarter through my clear plastic fittings when draining the grey tank after treatments..I even see some from the black tank. I back flush the black tank from the grey tank and flush the black tank from the top and from the built in side rinsing connection. I tried two cans of Extreme Cleaner hoping it would be more effective than what I had been using. I followed the directions to the letter, drove all day then dumped at the next opportunity. I did see a little more debris from the grey tank flush out than I usually saw after dumping the detergent and softener solutions I had been using but not a significant amount. The grey tank sensors still indicate at least 2/3 full on an empty tank while the black tank bounced back and forth between Empty and 1/3 full. This product may work eventually but appears to have the potential of just dumping money down the drain. I have no idea what the previous owner of my coach did or didn't do to the tanks so I may just have a tough case on my hands.

Works well: This stuff is AMAZING! I have a used 2012 travel trailer and the black tank stank SO bad, despite using an enzymatic treatment several times. Tried Happy Camper cleaner and took a three hour drive. After dumping, not only is the bad smell gone, but the toilet smells GOOD when flushing! This stuff works miracles! I’m sold!

My black tank sensor stayed at the “Full” level since last year. I didn’t care too much about the sensor as it happens to any sensor. I use a variety of black tank cleaners/treatments on every dump. As I was going to order another happy camper, this extreme cleaner came up and I wanted to give it a try. Used 5-6 gallons of water and drove for 1 1/2 days and let it sit with full water in black tank for another day. I was quite excited when I was about to dump the black tank. Well, I didn’t see much of gunks and my sensor is staying at Full. I am obviously not convinced due to lack of evidence and it is too expensive to try again.

It did exactly what the company said it would do.
