Glad I got this one, I previously ordered the shibusa 2, and while I did like the experience, I'm not too big on tobacco notes in scents which would've been fine as a peach, vanilla scent on its own without the tabacco note, but that's more of a personal preference, if they made a clean version with just vanilla and peach I'd definitely go for it. As for the 'Solo', I got it in the door and immediately opened it to smell, something about the sandalwood and Mandarin orange scent has a very clean after shower smell that comes off like a soapy fresh smell after a really long day. I took a bit since I'm learning how to lather shave soap better after changing from Nivea shave gel. Much like the shibusa 2 it lathered nicely and left a good cushiony surface that worked well over some unscented pre-shave and made my Hi-stainless feather blade glide smoothly, a little went a long way and I had a good amount of control of how thick I wanted it despite having to take some extra time lathering because I'm using a mini rice bowl and it has a smooth surface. It's a little on the pricey side as a product ..but if I'm gonna be honest, the quality is pretty damn good and it smells really nice I might try the sea air and lemon scent next time. A plus side for me is that it doesn't use any ingredients that my skin doesn't normally agree with or that I'm allergic too ..like aloe barbadenses (which is in like almost everything under the sun now). I'll definitely keep this in rotation in my weekly routine and I'll be checking other scents out when this eventually finishes.

The scent is probably one of my favorites, I do love a fresh, clean, citrusy profile though so YMMV. I was able to produce a bomb lather that is thick and creamy. I tried lathering and using this soap two different ways; first was bowl lather and that created the thick viscous lather, the other method was a direct face lather which resulted in a thicker “paintable” type lather. Both methods gave me a slick shave with the lather maybe giving a little more slickness and the former more cushion. Either way a great shave, scent, and price. Enjoy the shaves! :)

This shaving soap works great and produces a rich, slick lather that makes for a smooth shave. The scent is outstanding and even better than I expected. I loved the fragrance so much that I ended up buying the matching aftershave too. Highly recommend for both performance and scent.

It was good I thought it was gonna be hard but it's more of a thick foam which is better and it smells good

This is a well made artisan level tallow shaving soap made in Italy. It is high quality, lathers extremely well, and makes my skin slick and comfortable for wetshaving. The scent is excellent . I acquired 3 and they have all been a great purchase and value.

Smells great , lots of slickness. Fairly protective. Nothing to dislike.
