Simple to use, great style and works well
I bought this radio as I needed another radio that was able to receive Radio 4 Long Wave; I’m currently doing a video for each day before Radio 4 Long Wave is switched off on the 27th June 2026. I’m feature many radios from 1932 to present day. I was pleasantly surprised with this radio. Radio 4 Long Wave come through strong. For a small radio the volume output is plenty. After the switch off, I will continue to use the radio for Medium Wave and FM reception. FM reception is fine. I can also receive some Medium Wave station, but have yet to try this radio out for late night DXing. The controls are very simple: On/Off Volume, Band selector for FM, MW and LW, Up and down tuning. The LCD is clear to read, and is back light briefly when controls are used. This is to preserve battery power. The LCD information includes: Signal Strength, Frequency in kHz for MW/LW and MHz for FM, Battery Status. There is no RDS for FM. Batteries were included. It suggests Batteries are used only for LW/MW. I’m not sure exactly what this means, does it this mean:- 1. Batteries my not be able to power FM for very long (unlikely), 2. Using a switch mode 5V supply may not be any good for MW/Lw reception as these bands are more prone to interference (more likely) I also like the look of the radio. I Bought the White version, there is also a Blak version available. The cloth front looks good. The radio is very light in weight, not a pocket radio, but may be a coat pocket. Has a standard telescopic antenna on the back of the radio for FM reception. Says it is Deigned & Engineered in the UK and the Roberts Radio UK address can be found on the bottom of the radio. However, I suspect that it is manufactured in China or outside the EU/UK. There are no station presets, but that is fine, it makes the radio simple to use. The only annoyance, and it is minor, is that the frequency for each band is not remembered when changing bands and after being switch off and on again. Prefect radio, well done Roberts on this one, I’m featuring many of you past radios in my videos.

Good But Not Perfect
I bought this for my mum who lives and a very rural location and has had a few power cuts over the past few months. The reception is very good and sounds absolutely fine for a small radio. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that is a bit fiddly to get the station tunes in and you can go past the required station when you think you have reached it. I's say it's reasonable value and well built but tuning could be a bit easier. Especially for my 76 year old mother.

Faulty product
Thought that if I bought a British made product it would be long-lasting and reliable. The one I received wouldn't work properly from the start; kept turning off and giving a low battery reading, even with batteries that had been tested as fully charged. How this was not detected during quality control I don't know. Returned for refund.

Looks good but disappointing
Great looking little radio bought for kitchen when on offer. Unfortunately I had to return as the FM function kept cutting out every 10 seconds very frustrating. Disappointed Never had problem with Robert’s products previously. Shame

Roberts radio
It is a nice little radio, it does not stay on the station you tune it to. Nearly every time you turn it on, you have to turn the tuning knob slightly to put it in the right place. I like the compact size and the batteries last quite a long time, but not the ones that came with it.
