I’m very impressed with the gym pal so far. I’ve had it for a week, and thought that I’d just use it as a supplement for when I can’t make it to the gym. Instead, it appears the reverse may be true. The dynamic weight settings as well as the spotter that comes in and helps you finish a set are game changers.I was worried about the weight limit being 220, but I’ve read that electric weight feels at least 20% heavier than regular weights and I’m happy to report that this is the case. Deadlifts and squats might be a different story though, but I don’t mind going to the gym for things like cardio and what not so that isn’t a dealbreaker for me. But if you’re used to lifting heavy it is something to consider.

It seems that this space is filled with products that have a upfront payment and then lock you into a perpetual subscription to take more money out of your pocket. This one stood out in terms of the fact that it generally had positive reviews and no subscription. It is however a connected machine that cannot be used standalone.With gym equipment you look for a few things:a. LifespanSpending the kind of money on this means that it should be sturdy and last a long time. The plastic and the rubber mat with a cloth feel like they won't last long in my view. What's worse is the fact it's completely connected and if the company goes away you end up with a $1500 brick. This was proven by the lack of customer service. The device has firmware in the finger controller and the floor unit that provides the resistance. The firmware upgrade on the floor unit proved impossible and in the end was the reason why it was returned. It felt like I was in a loop with their CS for almost two weeks trying to get the best experience out of their product and they were not really aware of how to fix the issue.b. Quality workoutThis is based on your views to some extent. These machines provide a small footprint and Speediance has done a good job here of providing options and components that can give you a solid workout.c. and less so Data and MetricsThese connected machines help you to make progressions via data and analytics and this is no different. There is a lot in the app and a lot more can be added.ImprovementsSpeediance can make the following improvements:a. Break up their delivery into two boxes and organize the box better (for example the screws needed for the bench were just thrown into a random box)b. Use slightly better materials like a nicer rubber mat where the feet are placedc. Provide a USB slot for upgrades as a backup and maybe a offline mode so that the app doesn't have to connected to use the platform. Should the company go away (or they have a network outage) at least your gym equipment will keep working.d. Improve customer service to provide better tools on the app for diagnosing issues directlyMaybe version 2 will be better.

only give it a 4 stars cause I really want to get in-depth after I use it a month. I only did few sets of training sections with the apps. I have to admit, not bad at all. Need to use it a little longer to give a in-depth overview. And if anyone thinking about getting with amazon… do it. It shipped within a week and the delivery was smooth and on time.

This machine is great. Came package well and the bench was easy to assemble. The control I have over the weight is awesome. I can continue to do drop set very easy with spotter option. I’m loving this machine. Only drawback is no pull up exercise. I do that separately.

it arrived months late and broken. randomly powers off while trying to exercise and has progressed now to completely non-functioning. Customer service expected me to pull apart the machine and replace the control board without any diagrams or instructions. basically like building a computer. still didn't work. It took me attempting to put a negative review on their website to get a response from customer service both times and they have censored my review and refused to post it both times.extremely disappointing and unethical behavior from what is supposed to be a luxury product.

I love this machine! I can work virtually any muscle group, despite the lack of having a vertical pull-down attachment. The cables are smooth, the resistance feels great, and I get a fantastic pump/burn during my workouts. I love the ability to adjust the resistance and turn the load on or off with the Bluetooth ring. I absolutely recommend this machine to anyone with limited space who wants to get in shape. This little Gym Pal is perfect for that!

I gave this review an update, simply because all that was the problem before has been rectified to a certain extent. My gym pal that broke was returned and my money was refunded. The company sent me a replacement machine with an incline bench, but I had a flat bench before and had to go through the process for a return of the incline bench and wait for a flat bench. I’ve received the flat bench and can now use the machine. can say that the company solved the problem by helping me get a new machine but that’s all I can say. I told them that I would basically use the machine for the same duration as I did before. I would have to eliminate the barbell back squat and substitute that exercise with a belt squat. Simply because these cables are prone to wear and tear and cannot hold up to the high cable placement that a back squat would require. give this review three stars simply because this new machine is still basically untested and I will give it another two months of use and then update it again if the same thing happens. My problem has been handed over to the development department because it is a cause of major concern, because if you run into what happened to me, your out of a machine if you put all your faith in having a digital homegym like this.If you do decide to purchase this machine or any speediance product, you will receive help from them, but be aware of the timespan that you will receive responses from them. They did help out.

I have been using gym pal over half year now. Never had a problem and happy with my muscle gain. Totally recommend
