I use this as a seaweed salad to make a vegan version of hiyayakko, and in miso soup. Excellent taste and rehydrated in about 10 minutes.

I bought this as a much less expensive replacement for the Sea Seasonings seaweed mix, which had the texture and dryness of freshly ground pepper. This is much coarser (larger flakes) and the texture is almost "chewy" or "leathery," and not dry like I had been expecting. It's dry enough that it won't mold or anything, but it's definitely more noticeable when I sprinkle it on food, which is not what I was going for. I'm going to try putting it into a dehydrator or a slow oven and see if I can get it crumblier, then maybe try a spice grinder? (I'm afraid I'll get it too powdery then).Anyway, it's not bad, just be aware that it's more flakey and "raisin-y" in size and texture than most of the ones I've used.

At times there are seaweed bits that are too hard to chew, so I’m going back to plain dulse or kelp.

This item is full of shell pieces. It's a good deal if you don't mind sifting through the entire package to get out the tooth cracking hard shell pieces yourself.

Great flavor and you can tell it’s fresh when you open it and the smell is super strong. I add it to smoothies, soups and other dishes for flavor and nutrients.
