Good piece of equipment. Nice and large. Sturdy. Especially like the ridges to promote richer lathering. Easily makes enough for more than 3 passes Only “issue”, water didn’t stay warm in scuttle as long as I expected, but that might be because I took my time. Easily sorted by wrapping scuttle in a towel. I’d recommend to anyone thinking of wet shaving.

This is the second one I have purchased, dropped a heavy weight on the last one, say no more. I do like this shaving bowl, I like 2 shaves at a time and this bowl keeps the shaving cream nice and warm for both shaves. I also use a cream rather than soap, makes a better lather than soap. Someone mentioned the bung getting stuck inside in an earlier review, well looking at the one that came with this bowl, no way will this bung fit through the hole, unless you use a hammer 🔨. A little pricey but worth it, for a daily shave I say.

bit expensive for what it is,however it is well presented in a box, well finished & Perfect for the job.I warmed the whole thing in hot water,then refilled it with hot water.It kept the brush and soap warm for my shave and was still warm when I finished.easy to use,right size,easy to handle even with wet soapy hands.recommended!

Fantastic product. The only reason I’ve given it a 4 star and not a 5, and I’m being picky, is that it arrived with a few chips in the paintwork and the fork has a habit of popping out due to the pressure created by the hot water steaming in the reservoir. Other than that, helps create a lovely warm lather for shaving (providing you use a decent quality shaving cream or soap). Especially helpful for those using straight razors or safety razors and going in for the smooth 3rd pass.

It is not total waste of money but very close to it. The most useless part of it is a rubber cork or stopper or whatever they call that thing. I have read in some reviews that it easily goes down the hole and you can’t get it out. So I was ready not push too hard, but when I was gentle with it it wasn’t staying in, popping out by itself. When I pushed slightly harder it went down the hole. I did try to get it out with a bottle opener but it went even deeper down and disappeared completely. In terms of holding water temperature I am not sure it does the job, unless you fill it with boiling water. I used maximum hot tap water. By the end of second pass it was slightly warm. I would not recommend it unless you like the way it looks. All the other functions are greatly overstated.

I've found this to be very good build so far. I've read other reviews about people losing the plug in thd hole. My plug is impossible to push all the way in so it's fine. Our hot water is approximately 55°C and above and it keeps the lather nice and warm for a three pass straight razor shave. 5 stars all around from me.

It's a decent looking scuttle and it does keep the lather warm. However the ridges inside are very mild and don't help the lathering process particularly. It's a bit big to hold in your hand so you end up holding the handle and resting it on the sink, which clatters a bit when working the brush. The rubber stopper pops out a lot, and there's a crack in the glaze. I would buy a silicone pet food slow eating collapsible bowl next time, but I have started face lathering now anyway. It's not a bad product but only OK.

Excellent product and well made. Makes creating a lather very easy due to its generous size and keeps the lather warm for multiple pass shaving... highly recommended.

Aggiornata al 16-08-2021 Premessa ---------------------- Sempre più felice dell'acquisto che mi ha rivoluzionato e facilitato il montaggio delle creme. Prodotto purtroppo made in cina ma secondo me di qualità discreta. La ciotola arriva in una confezione ben protetta, quindi non abbiate paura che possa rompersi durante il viaggio e soprattutto non osservate le foto dei tappi in sughero fatte dagli utenti perchè in dotazione c'e' solo il tappo di silicone Perchè comparla? ---------------------- Per due motivi: - Perchè vi facilità parecchio il montaggio. Con mezzo dito di crema, un buon pennello e questa scuttle farete dei montaggi superlativi con poca fatica. - Il secondo è che avendo la camera ad aria (in questo senso ad acqua) è possibile riempirla di acqua bollente che rende lo scioglimento della crema da barba ancor più rapido. Inoltre la ciotola farà da protezione termica rendendo la crema calda e soffice Punti negativi ---------------------- Purtroppo qualcuno c'e' - Per me è un po troppo piccola, inizialmente avevo problemi a montare per via del mio 31mm. Dopo non ho avuto più problemi ma in futuro valuterò anche l'acquisto di una più grande Attenzione ----------------------- - La ciotola è bilanciata e non mi ritrovo con chi dice che non lo è. Va bene sia se la tenete per la maniglia e sia se l'appoggiate... Io non ho avuto problemi mettendo l'acqua bollente della fontana (che è molto calda) e non vi consiglio di metterla nel micro-onde perchè dopo dovete usare dei panni per tenerla con il rischio di romperla pure. Meglio scaldare un po d'acqua se non avete la possibilità dell'acqua bollente. Consiglio anche in estate di mettere l'acqua calda perchè non annulla gli effetti rinfrescanti di alcune creme e aumenta la facilità del montaggio Spero di esservi stato utile

The upside: A scuttle is probably the best, if not the only, way you're going to be able to keep your brush and lather warm in between shave passes. The downside: Ceramic scuttles are fragile. They break. Be careful with it. My previous ceramic scuttle, made by a different company, lasted several years. But, it only took one slip and it broke in the sink. I bought a plastic one from a Phoenix place thinking I would have the best of both worlds; unbreakable material paired with the warming features of a scuttle. I was wrong. The plastic sheds heat like my dog sheds fur in August. Ceramic is key to holding onto the warmth and keeping the lather and brush warm. If you're reading all the reviews, you'll see that some people complain about the silicone cork that is provided with this QShave scuttle not staying in the hole. The silicone is just too slick to stay in the hole, and it keeps popping out. I had the same problem with my previous scuttle, which had a rubber cork. The cork just wouldn't stay in the hole once the scuttle was filled with hot water. While I won't pretend to understand the physics or science of this problem, I'll happily claim that I've found the solution, and it's a dirt cheap (less than a dollar) solution so there's no reason not to buy this scuttle based upon the negative cork reviews. The solution? Go to your local hardware store and buy a similar sized cork made from actual cork. Real cork just stays put in the hole, like it was meant to be there. Perfect! I've used my QShave scuttle numerous times since my purchase, and I'm happy with it. I've done four-pass shaves (face and head) and I've noticed the lather feels nice and warm with each lathering. Keep in mind the scuttle is ceramic, my friends, so by default that means it's fragile. But, a ceramic scuttle holds heat better than anything else I've found. And be forewarned with a dose of common sense: ceramic is slippery when paired with shaving soap and water, so treat it like the very, very fragile ego of your liberal neighbor who believes world peace is possible. 床屋さんの白い四角いシェービングカップでは味気無いので探していたところ、この商品を見つけました。 商品写真に有ったように梱包されており、よほどの事が無い限り輸送中の破損は無さそうです。納期も回答貰った通りに届きました。 商品写真のイメージより大きく少々重いなと思いましたが使ってみるとブラシとの相性が良いのか内側の段付きが良いのか泡立ちは良好です。 今はまだやってませんが冬の時期はお湯をいれて暖かい泡で快適に剃れそうです。
