Very easy to install. I bought a previous one from a different brand and it did not hold up the hatchback for a Subaru 2012 outback. Purchased this one and gave it a shot. Can only say it did not come with those two pieces that you slip between the bracket and screws but I reused my old one i had on the car. Holding up so far. If you’re looking to replace your rear hatchback struts for a Subaru, these definitely fit and was easy to install for a female. 😍

The hood struts went bad on my GX470 so I replaced them with these. They work very well and have plenty of pressure to raise the hood and keep it open. They are very stable with the hood open. They close easily with one hand. I believe they included all necessary hardware to install as well as different ends if needed to make them somewhat adjustable. They are a great price compared to auto parts store or oem replacements.

I'm not an AI bot, just a regular girl who does some DIY jobs on her car. My shocks on my lift gate suddenly went out.. I'm blaming the awful heat wave in the Midwest. I ordered these despite no reviews on my particular model (2015 Acadia). No included hardware or intructions, but it was easy to figure out, especially when I got the old ones off. They are shipped compressed with a plastic strap binding them. Getting that off was the hardest part. The metal ring on the socket is a bit hard to get off, but doable with a small-medium flathead screwdriver. Very sturdy! Will update this if anything goes south, but these get a solid 5 stars from me! Very functional.

For the price, this seems to work really well to replace blown out liftgate strut on 2012 4Runner. Easy to install - just use a flat screwdriver to pop the metal snap tabs out, pop the old strut out, pop new one in, snap down the metal snap tabs (probably have to pop open the snap tabs on the new strut before installation). Rear hatch door lifts well on its own, drops right in and fits exactly where OEM fits as standard alignment hardware. Good price for something that's likely far more expensive as Toyota OEM.

I picked the cheapest option for this part, and it worked perfectly on our 01 car. Installation was easy, and it held the weight of the hatch perfectly; not too strong or too weak. I've had the "too strong" thing happen on a different vehicle and it's not fun; I was glad this one had the perfect factory balance.

Ordered this product and it was delivered on 9/12/25. I installed them on the same day. Today (9/20/25), exactly 8 days later (while I was driving) I heard a loud bang sound, like metal on metal. I immediately pulled over to see what happened after hearing it, and as I pulled up the rear hatch, I heard some grinding and realized the right side failed and was broken The strut had pushed up the side toward the roof, and it was pushing on the upper part of the hatch frame and damaging my paint. Left side looks like it's going to fail also. (See All Pictures, Attached) Before I installed the pair, I thought something was weird. I noticed that the left and right were labeled, but the attach points that go on the hatch door frame (not the hatch door side) were not the same as the original parts. The angled bend was on the ououter side, and on the original part the angled bend was on the inner side. Check the pictures and compare to your Subaru. I thought it was odd, but after installing them the door closed properly, so I figured they were good and didnt think anything about it after that. Apparently I was wrong, and the pressure on the pin that holds the strut on the hinge point failed, and now I have damage on my car from the failure. If I could rate this a BIG FAT ZERO, I would. I am asking Amazon for a full refund and ordering another brand that actually fits the proper way. I would definitely NOT recommend this product. These struts are absolutely trash, and I doubt they will be covering the damage to the paint on my car.

Fits 2008 Prius - Way Easy to install - You’ll need a Small, thin, Standard Screwdriver + Broom handle and a Pair of Sissers. ~ 10 minute install - including putting away your tools and washing up - Video included :) First compare these to your installed originals before you cut the plastic straps that release each os the pressurized pistons! For our 2008 Prius - they fairly closely matched the length and girth of the larger (lower) piston width and length - and the coupling mechanism on both ends was exactly the same - using a single bridge holding clip. So we ahead with the install. Even if your current pistons hod the door up fairly well - to do this work you will want to be sure to prop the hatch door open - with a broom handle or something that holds it up so the door doesn’t start to come down as you work - or remove one of the pistons. Without saying - it’s safest to remove and replace each side - one at a time - as the hatch door has a surprising amount of down leverage due to its weight and how far out it swings. The short video shows after installing the right new hatch lift piston - the basics of the easy removal and install. Sorry its a rough cut video - but you’ll probably will get the drift of it. These replacement lift struts make all the difference in the world. Will they last as long as the originals? Maybe - but at this price point a fix for less than a tank of gas - we’re all good here.

This doesn't fit a nissan pathfinder armada. Do not buy, like someone else mentioned....there needs to be a slight angle at the bottom connection like the one being replaced, they just pop off when you close the hood

Hood struts were simple to install and I completed the change over in 15 minutes (including 5 minutes for YouTube instruction review). Only needed a flat head screwdriver for the retaining clips.
