I don't have to clean it. When Cereal is gone I just add more. If need cleaning it would be very easy. Everything comes apart and is washable by hand. I would not put it in a dishwasher because it is no glass. This is a very useful item. I might would use it for just about anything, rice, noodles, oatmeal, flour. Anything that pours out and is not in large clumps would work fine in this. It dispenses easily. Looks nice asthetically on my counter. I purchased 2 of these when they were on sale.

So it’s not super high quality, but it’s still nice looking, was easy to assemble and it works. The part I am not thrilled about and the reason for less stars is the design. Am I missing something? There is not enough “clearance” space for you to use your hand to remove the cap at the bottom where it keeps the cereal from pouring out while you also have your cereal bowl beneath it. So once you remove the cap you end up with crumbs from the cereal dispenser dropping down into the tray while you try to move your bowl under the opening.

It's my fault for not reading the description better. I thought the jar was glass. It is plastic. I would not have bought it otherwise. Also this jar is massive. It says it holds 17.5 ozs. Our cereal comes in 16 oz bags. I was able to put two bags in the jar.

Overall, I’m happy with these food dispensers. The main reason I purchased them was to make mornings easier for my son, so he could help himself to breakfast more independently. They work well for that purpose. They’re also a nice option for keeping the pantry neat and organized, and they look tidy on the shelf. They’re great for cereals, oats, and similar dry foods. I also find them useful when baking—for example, measuring out oats is easy, and sometimes I simply remove the top and scoop directly, which helps reduce mess when using a measuring cup. Overall, they arrived as expected and are good quality.
