DURA-LIFT Ultra-Life MAX 2" Sealed 6200ZZ Bearing Nylon Garage Door Roller, 4" Stem, Pack of 10

This was my second purchase of these Nylon rollers. I previous bought some for another door. The Nylon is very quiet on the metal tracks and the stainless steel ball bearing rollers are also quiet and very smooth rolling. And the ball bearings are sealed to keep out dust and keep the factory lubricant inside. So they never need oiling. These are so much quieter than the old worn-out rollers, it has made huge difference in noise level from the door operation. These are excellent rollers and I would highly recommend them. On a side note: There are kits sold on Amazon with plastic tubes that slides over the roller stems and prevents the metal stem from hitting the metal hinge that the rollers slide into. It's a good idea, but you don't need to pay the high price for the kits. The tubes nothing special, they are actually "Boba" straws sold here on Amzn. So I bought a bag of 100 white plastic (12mm) "Boba Straws" for under $10. You will only 5 or 10 straws depending on the length of your roller stems. My stems are 4" long, which is pretty common. So they can be cut into 4" sections. Then slide them over the end of the stem, (away from the rollers) and inside the hinge tube, with the rollers in place. The rollers do Not need to be removed. No disassembly and no tools are requires. Note: Make sure you only buy the "hard plastic" straws (not the soft Silicone). The hard plastic ones are "12mm" Inside Diameter. They will slide perfectly onto to the roller stem and fit nicely inside the door hinge with a little wiggle room to spare, so they do not bind as the door moves. Be sure to read the fine print in the Product Description Details, because the straws are not all the same, they are made in a variety of sizes from 9mm, 10mm, 11mm, to 12mm. Only the 12mm (0.47 inches) will fit over the stem. Having these sleeves on the stems quiets some of the "tinny" metal-hitting-metal noise as the door moves. This is for "Fine Tuning" the door noise. If the door is already very noisy, you won't be able to notice a difference. I had a large amount of straws left over, so gave some to my family and neighbors. Them I made myself a smoothie to drink with a straw. :- )

Seem well made, little to compare them to, far superior to the original garage rollers. Easy to install. Garage door is a little quieter. I am a little nervous about replacing the bottom ones, only because of the garage door design. I would buy again.

I know, the title is contradicting but let me explain. My 13 year old door was making all kinds of noise - more than what you hear in our bedroom which is above the garage lol..... I've watched videos of DIY replacements but never pulled the trigger. Then my son moved back home from a year away at college. He's coming home late at night and its waking me up with all the creaking and banging - of the garage door. I finally decided I needed to do something. I placed the order on a Wednesday and the rollers arrived on Thursday. Looks great, quality feel. Today I decided to make the swap. Of course, one of the hottest days of the year and I decide to close myself in a very hot garage (thats the part that I should maybe have waited a bit longer until it cools). The bottom roller had me scared. You DO NOT want to remove that bottom bracket with the cable tension applied. And I didn't want to bend the track to get it out either. I've seen others raise the door and take the tension off the cable. So I opened the door and realized that if I push up on it every so slightly the cable goes slack. So I grabbed an easy clamp and clamped the door all the way up as far as it would go to release all tension on that cable. Perfect! On my door that bottom bracket also has two tabs that need to slide to release the bracket. Took me a bit to figure that out. Once I slid that bracket to align the tabs with the opening I was able to remove it and replace the roller. It was probably one of the easier rollers to replace. I then tackled the others with ease sweating profusely - probably lost at least 5 beers of sweat. My door screws were 7/16" and having an impact made most of them easy to get off. I did have to use my ratchet and even an open end wrench to remove a couple. My hinges had one fixed mounting hole and three adjustable so no need to mark the locations as they really can only go on one position. When I got half the door done I opened it for some fresh air and to test the operation. With only half done the difference was easy to hear. I finished off the other side and again tested the operation. I hear the motor more than the door. Really did make a big difference.. The real test will be when my college age son comes home at 3am and he opens the door. Now to work on increasing the noise in the bedroom..... ;)

Expensive but, good.... we changed them in our garage and by mistake took out the one at the bottom too that holds all the tention.... so, do this project but, only change eight of them and not all ten..... it costed extra 100 to get one of the garage door fixed.... we only changed eight on the second door.... so, now we have three extra... we do see reduction in noise

SO much better than the metal wheel ones that came with the garage door when we bought the house. The roll very smoothly and quietly, easy to install. With the sealed bearings I'm expecting them to outlast the garage door.

solid, quiet and work great

I was cleaning my filthy garage door and tracks and I realized my old wheels were in need of replacement. These Dura-Lifts are one of 2 or 3 brands that you'll find people recommending online as sort of the top tier replacement. I started checking my local big box stores for some rollers and the ones I were finding were overpriced brands that are not known for their quality. So I went to Amazon and was surprised and happy the Dura-Lift had same day delivery available, which was perfect since it was so last minute. I didn't want to turn this cleaning into a 2 day project and I didn't want to run the old gunky wheels through the clean tracks and dirty them up again. So it all worked out timing wise. The wheels are easy enough to replace after a quick video lesson to learn how. Holding the wheels in your hand they seem like they are good quality, and the wheels spin easily and silently. A dab of fresh silicone garage door lube on everything and the door is running nicely and everything is fresh and clean. The white color of the wheels helps you see when they are getting dirty so you know when it's time to give everything a wipe down to keep the tracks free of grease build up. All in all, very happy, a well spent $25. My door is still a cheapo that came with the house so it's not whisper quiet and bangs around in the tracks, but the wheels are good to go and will probably outlive the door.

Perfect upgrade. Went from steel rollers to these. Nice clean design that looks nice. Perfect fit that's easy to replace and super quiet. Switched these out using a little help from videos, and I would call myself a beginner. Best purchase.

Great quality item. Garage door running significantly smoother and quieter after install. Love the price as well.
