Great hammer, claw is flat so works great for skirting boards, best of all is the weight of it, 300g so not carrying a massive over the top hammer round

Pricey, but fantastic hammer for cable clips. Even in tight spaces you can use side of hammer to get clips in. It’s got a lovely weight and feel to it. Very subjective I know. When I inevitably end up dropping this down an unretrievable cavity, to join the rest of my pilers/screwdrivers, I won’t hesitate in buying another one. You know you want one and you’re worth it. Go on and treat yourself or ask some else to buy you this for you, maybe as a birthday/Christmas present :)

A tad shorter than a 30cm ruler and arrived quite quickly to UK address. Handle is nice and shape of head is also really nice to, the very tips of the nail prying fork needed the tips grinding sharper to get underneath things easier but apart from that very nice hammer.

I was in need of a new hammer to replace one where the plastic handle kept sliding off the metal shaft. My son had recently bought one of these, and he sent me a picture of it. I liked the look of it! When it arrived, I was not disappointed with it. It looks good, it feels good, and it feels like it should last a long time. What I'm not quite sure about is the striking face (I haven't used the hammer yet). As I look at it in relation to the hammer shaft, I have a gut feeling that the face of the hammer is about 2° out of alignment with what I feel would be a natural swing/strike ie if the striking face was bent inwards about 2° towards the forearm, it would have a more 'flat' striking face offered to the nail etc. I will give it a go when I am at work and ammend my review if I am wrong... Update: I have now tried out the hammer and I still think that I am right. That 2° tilt would, I think, make a difference. I do think that it's a good hammer and I will be keeping it. It would be interesting if Wiha tried out my idea and what it would feel like? Update 01/07/2026: Having used this hammer for several months now, I am sticking with my first assessment, the face of the hammer is a couple of degrees out. It's not a big issue that can't be come to terms with but, having used many different hammers over many years one gets to develop a 'feel' for these things. I can cope with it, indeed, I have actually bought another one. I don't use the hammer part as much as I do the claw part so, all in all I would recommend this hammer.

Quality of the hammer is excellent. It's heavier than it looks and the quality control is outstanding. I saved a considerable amount by purchasing the hammer from Amazon.co.uk. It took a little longer for the delivery but it was well worth the wait.

I loved it, until it was pinched by a Mate Now he loves it.

This hammer should not not be selected as a general duty hammer as it is not heavy enough, but as an electrician I purchased this hammer for installing intruder, telecoms and data cables etc and should be ideal for this purpose. Provided most people realise most electricians carry several hammers, I have the following, a 2.5 pound club hammer, a 20 ounce Estwing ripping claw hammer and a10 ounce Warrington hammer. This actual hammer will directly replace the Warrington hammer as it cannot retract/ remove cable clips, hence this hammer will be ideal in attic spaces and under floors etc. As long as the layman understands this hammer is designed for specific purposes and will function perfectly on these applications. If a person is only going to select one hammer to cover all aspects of general diy in the home this hammer is probably not the ideal option. If on the other hand an electrician etc is looking for a hammer for light duty work then this hammer would be a good selection as the hammer head is well designed for allowing access for clipping cables in tight corners and the ripping claw is an excellent design for removing clips, removing facings and trunking lid etc. In general I’m pleased with the performance of this tool although I haven’t used it a great deal but when used it feels well balanced with a comfortable grip.

This Wiha hammer is smaller than my "normal" hammer (an Estwing 16oz), and I wouldn't use it for pounding larger nails. But for tacks, cable clips, and _anything_ that needs to be nailed in close to an edge or perpendicular surface, the Wiha crushes the Estwing. It's easier to handle, and the flat top makes it easier to strike a nail right at the edge of a wall. I'm just a light duty DIY kind of person, so a bigger hammer (it turns out) is more than I need 90% of the time. This little Wiha fits in a smaller tool bag, is easier to swing, and easier to control. It's now my go-to hammer for most of what I want to do around the house.
