Good Morning, I am a professional furniture designer and over the years have switched from using a pencil to mark my lines to scribing with various Japanese Marking Tools and this one from Gifu is a terrific addition to my collection of Japanese tools and marking devices! A terrific little knife, well-made and well packaged!

The blade is sharp and very easy to push through my graphite pencil casings to expose a very long lead without breaking the leads. I find it easier to push through the wood casing versus an exacto knife. I use an artist sanding block to bring the lead to a point. The blade cover makes the knife easy to store

Picked this up for making leather goods. Cuts through 5-6oz leather without flinching.It's a small inexpensive knife. The handle/sheath is plastic. But it's good steel, and nice and sharp. I own several kiridashis, and bought this for my wife since the sheath makes it a little safer and easier to use. It's a good knife. Great for crafts.

Not quite as expected, still, a very serviceable tool.

It is pretty ergonomic. And the blade is sharp and ready to use. The whole thing looks so exquisite! I love it!

The knives I ordered arrived today and I wasn’t expecting perfection as I read several reviews about how the knives are not a quality item. I found quite the opposite when I examined and used the knives sent to me.Very good carbon steel and sharp, i don’t mean a little sharp I’m talking cut 10oz leather with ease sharp, that’s beyond shaving sharp. The handle fits my hand perfectly, and is bamboo.I wear a large size glove. The blade cover is plastic but if good quality and fits snuggly. If overtime it gets loose from wear it would be simple to fix.The blade is flat ground and as I said, sharp!The back of the blade is dead flat and polished at the blade edge. You cannot go wrong if you need a good trim knife for leather work or marking knife for carpentry.This is the knife.

Great product for the cost. I honed the back, and the bevel, putting a mirror finish. Went from sharp to scary sharp.
