This weather proof cover is far superior to the original contractor supplied cover. Very well constructed and allows for it to be locked if desired. Works vertical or horizontal. The seal and base layer allow for use with GFI, duplex, switch or round outlets. I had a GFI fail. While replacing the outlet I found the cover seals were gone. No more weather protection and most likely the reason the outlet failed. Replacing the cover with this Bell unit took less than 5 minutes. Great fit and a solid seal against the weather. Time to check and replace my other exterior outlets with these Bell waterproof covers.

Worked just fine. We have a house about 25 years old and it was high time to replace all the electrical outlets and switches, just for upkeep and keep the house feeling less old. I got these to replace two outside outlets, and they worked very well. Nice quality and fitting. I kinda wish the insulating foam gasket was just a little thicker, or if they could have provided 2 styles to best handle the job, but it's okay with what was provided. I don't expect water to make it inside. Anyway, recommended.

First and foremost, it was metal which surprise me because most of these things are made of plastic these days installed. It fits fine easy install only time will tell how long it will last.

I needed to replace the cover on an outdoor GFI plug. I bought this and I’m very pleased. It is made of a heavy plastic and will last for years. Very well made.

Pour : (+) Solide: On a fait l'erreur d'acheter des couvercles en plastique il y a quelques années et ils ont tous fini par craquer et briser, probablement à cause de l'usure aux rayons UV. Cette fois-ci on décidé de payer un peu plus cher et d'avoir la sainte paix. Ce modèle est très solide et devrait résister beaucoup mieux aux hivers canadiens et aux rayons UV. (+) Le ressort à lame garde le couvercle solidement fermé (contrairement aux modèles en plastique qui ont tendance après quelques années à ne plus fermer hermétiquement) Contre: (-) Le trou pour cadenas est minuscule.
