Xtraordinary Home Products Multi Mandolin

Generally I use a knife to hand cut veggies, cheeses, fruits, etc, until I made a huge pot of veggie soup the other day. I spent almost an hour cutting up all the different ingredients, the soup was great but I felt it took to much time out of my day to prepare.I purchased this mandolin to see if it would help at all. I decided to make the soup again using my new toy, and wow what a difference! The slicing of potatoes, celery, onions, zucchini, and about a dozen other veggies was a breeze. Everything looked great and had a very uniform size and shape. I threw everything in the pot and waited on the final product.I'm very happy with the purchase of this mandolin, and for around 15 bucks it was a real time saver. Clean up took a few minutes, but was well worth it for the time saved on actual slicing and dicing. Id highly recommend adding this tool to your kitchen.

I was disappointed with the sharpness of this item. My daughter had one, and the slicer was SUPER sharp---mine left alot to be desired. I've tried so many and am so disappointed in the quality. I tried one of Wolfgang Puck's---totally shocked at how BAD it cut!!I would NOT recommend anyone buying this item.

This product is as good as a light weight plastic mandolin can be. Don't bear down too much or the blade will cut too deep. The best thing I learned is that a kitchen mandolin is a very handy tool to have. My next one will be metal or heavy duty.

I like that it stores together in one piece. The blades are sharp and cut well. It is also easy to clean. I do not like that the crinkle cut blade is on the end of the mandolin and makes it hard to use. But overall, I would purchase again.

Works ok, a bit cheap and flimsy feeling but I guess you get what you pay for. Can't use for thicker cuts either

I like items which are easy to store. With this slicer, all the pieces stay in one place. They fit tightly in the slicer and the slicer fits well to the lip of the bowl while I use it. This makes switching the cuts quick and easy when I want variety in a dish. I've read reviews which complain about having to wash all the parts each time they use it or having to remove all the parts before using it. This material is easy to clean (my old one held stains. I find that simply washing the surfaces I have used and rinsing the entire assembled unit is makes the job easier. Idon't use a dishwasher as dishwashers dull cutting blades on slicers or knives.

This would be a great idea if it was constructed in a safe way. The extra blades storing underneath snap into place. Unfortunately, the blade you choose to use does NOT snap into THAT place!!! It moves back and forth and can slide all the way out as you use the mandolin!!! It easily will cut your hand or wrist if the item you're slicing isn't big enough to use the gripper. And BTW, the gripper is too big for most vegetables to be of any use at all. If you're slicing anything other than a tomato or whole pepper or apple, you have to use your hand to hold it as you slice. So as the blade moves, you don't slice anything and get stuck on the edge of the mandolin. Needless to say, I ended up slicing the outside of my thumb!I'm returning it item today. Do NOT buy this unless you can figure out how to keep the blade in position while you slice. Perhaps duct tape?

I have had many of this type of slicer before and there has always been something I didn't like. Either the product was cheap or it didn't do what it claimed to do. This mandolin slicer is well built. It slices very easy and consistantly perfect. I love that the attachments are stored in the body of the unit. You don't have to worry about cutting your self or trying to find them or damaging the cutters edge. This is a well constructed appliance that works perfectly.
