Sometimes we don’t hear our dog scratching at the door, and she just stands there waiting for us to let her out. If we don’t hear her, then she’ll pee on the floor. Installing this bell ringer at the door is great, we actually have two one in the inside door and one on the screen door. And she can just tap her lean against it, and it will ring throughout the house. It does not take long to train a dog either, you just get your dog to tap it with their paw before you let them out the door and then they just learn how to do it on their own essentially. Our cats have also learned how to ring it, even though we didn’t teach them.

This is a really nice set of bells. They could be a bit louder but otherwise, they are nicely made and sturdy. We were trying to get our cat to stop swatting our screen and start hitting the bells instead to let us know when she wanted to be fed. However, she is scared to death of these bells and wants absolutely nothing to do with them. We did decide to place the bells where she swats so she would stop swatting our screen. Now she swats in another area. UGH.
