Wish I had these years ago

I had mixed results trying to use this. My first attempt was to use red wire nuts to join 3 wires, and it actually did a really good job of twisting the wires, I was actually surprised by how well it did on 2 of the 3, the green wires could have been a little better. I quickly found out you need to be careful using a drill to install a wire nut, because even on the slow setting, it's still pretty fast and it will either twist everything up really fast, or in the case of yellow wire nuts, it will twist the wires right through the end! I was using yellow wire nuts for two wires and just didn't always get it to work as well... some of them it barely twisted the wires before they broke out the end, others worked pretty well.The wires are supposed to be twisted around each other tightly and while a drill is more than strong enough to completely twist them, wire nuts themselves are not always strong enough to make that tight twist, in my case the red ones were strong enough, but the yellow ones were not really strong enough, so while the twists in my photos were all achieved with this device, I did end up twisting several of the 2 wire connections myself.That being said, even the connections I twisted myself, I did find it useful to install the wire nut with this device in my drill, it just saves the repetitive twisting motion that needs to be done with a firm grip with both hands. I do get cramps in my hands from installing a lot of wire nuts, and this does help with that, but it does take a little practice to figure out how fast to run the drill and to get a feel for when to stop.There are many times when you need to work in a tight junction box and it's difficult to get both hands in there, one to hold the wires together and another to twist a wire nut where this can be a real help as you can get this into a tight little space and still see what you are doing. I think for the price it's a great tool, as long as you don't expect too much from it. if you do use it to make the twist in the wires, you should remove the wire nut and inspect how the twist came out and twist further, if necessary, then re-install the wire nut. The reason for this is not really the fault of the device, it's simply the ability of the wire nuts themselves to make the wires twist before they push out the end. I think that is why I had better luck with larger wire nuts, the wire nuts themselves are just stronger.Also, this only works with winged wire nuts, I dug up a few different styles of non-winged wire nuts and it wouldn't work with any of them.

I’ve been swapping out a lot of our hardwired lighting in the house over the past few months, and I got this because one of the hardest parts for me of switching out lights is getting the wiring securely attached. Hand twisting the wire nuts was driving me nuts on a couple of recent overhead light projects, so I was eager to see if this would make it easier. It definitely did make the process easier for me, but I had trouble using it with an electric drill as I just couldn’t get the drill to go slow enough. But it worked like a charm with a handheld electric screwdriver with less power than my drill, and saved me a lot of time with the latest light swaps. Where it used to take me several tries to get the wire nut on securely, this helped me get it right on the first try most times. Mind you, it’s still important to ensure the wires are placed in the nut properly before starting, but after that, this is a real time saver.

It's may seem crazy to say, but this is truly awesome! Something seemingly so simple yet so useful, I can't imagine not having or using it now.This is well constructed using polymer/plastic and a steel shank. The shank is made so that it's quick release compatible with my powered screwdriver, a BIG plus in my book. I've tried it on many different sizes of wire nuts and it's handled them all beautifully. Like other reviewers, once you get into the bigger sized wire nuts it has some difficulty, but with patience it does work.I don't recommend using a drill with these, as it's easy to become overzealous and create more problems than it's designed to solve. BUT it does work with a drill, just remember to keep it slow.I have had carpal tunnel surgery, and this takes all that pain that I still get and just takes it away! Not to mention the ease of use, just......great!!Into my go-bag it goes so it's always there at the ready should it be needed.Spend the money, you DEFINITELY won't regret it!A+++++

Twisting wire nuts on is one of them things that looks so easy whenever I see others doing it , but for some reason I have a hard time when it's my turn. I had hoped that The Twisting Wire Nut Driver would be the helping hand I needed. I got a chance to use this item a few weeks ago when I was installing a ceiling mounted light/fan fixture in my home. I found holding the drill with the bit attached was just as problematic for me anyway. Needless to say I went back to twisting it by hand the old school way to get done and off that ladder.The wire nut driver is definitely made with quality material, prices great and with the right user I'm sure works fine.
