Allowed me to repair an existing clock that is used for decoration (I think one person actually uses it as a clock!) without much effort.

Very simple. Battery operated. The description on the page says it does not come with a hook, but you can clearly see a hook in the picture. There was a hook in the package. The entire mechanism is held by a single nut it's pretty simple to put together. Requires a single double A battery that is installed from the rear, so be sure you can access from behind. This is a silent mechanism. It does not chime.

It was perfect for my application. Had measured the old ones. These fit exactly. Good price. Good assortment of other maybe necessary parts included.

The kit accommodated three different clock face sizes. The smallest sets of hands worked best for us. Quality was great. I had my clock up and running in minutes. The second is a nice feature.

I only gave it 1 star because 0 or a negative star is not an option. Whoever designed this clock mechanism in China was not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree. The pegs that hold the pendulum mechanism away from the wall so it can swing are not long enough. The mechanism touches the wall and it keeps it from working. Also the pegs are different lengths so it hangs slightly cocked which also effects it swinging properly.

The clock mechanics work very well and I loved that it came with multiple sized hands so I could find which of the three best suited my clock face. The only disappointment I have is that the pendulum only works for a few minutes then comes to a complete stop. I bought this specifically for the pendulum so I'm a little disappointed. If that piece had worked, I would have given it 5 stars no problem.
