Total garbage
Most of the pegs were mushy. Would not pound into the log. I only had about 15 out of 100 that were useable.

Viable and clean , but.....
Nice and healthy and no contamination.The only problem was that about a quarter of the plugs were mushy. So much so that they would fall apart in your fingers. The 75 or so good plugs were enough to give me fair coverage but it would have been better if all the plugs were usable

Came well packed and ready to go!
Came in the mail well packaged. Shrink wrapped with a breathable seal. Everything looks good and ready to go. These mushrooms can take up to a year to grow but the inoculation appears to be viable and show signs of life.It comes with an awesome instruction card that helps you get started. Chicken of the woods is a pretty easy mushroom to grow if you follow the instructions and have patience. Pick a hard wood they recommend, drill out your holes, pop in the wooden peg plugs and keep the wood damp as the spores start to infuse the hard wood. Keep in mind these grow in forests so keep it in a shady cooler place that would mimic its natural environment. It says they don't grow well inside but I am going to try half outside and half inside with all of these plugs just to see if I can get it going inside. Their description page also gives a lot of great tips for growing these. You can do this! Pretty simple to do if you follow the steps but If this doesn't go well I'll return to update my review!
