This is truly an amazing product that everyone needs!
I have purchased this product for my parents and my in-laws for every bathroom in their homes that have a shower and or bathtub. It sticks perfectly to shower walls with a tight, unwavering suction, so there is no drilling or messing up the surface of your showers or bathtubs. The suction is so strong, that it has not come off with extreme pressure that our parents must use because they are elderly and have to help hold their body weight up with this item.I 100% recommend this to anyone that has a loved one that either needs assistance getting in and out of their shower/bathtub. That may need something to hold onto to feel safe in the shower. This item has relieved so much stress and worry from myself and my husband, knowing that we have a product that helps keep our parents safe.I’m sure this product can be used for other things besides the shower and bathtub.I can’t speak on that because I haven’t researched it or used it for anything else. But I do have a lot of faith that this handy item could benefit many people for multiple uses.I’m even going to purchase one for myself and I’m completely independent. It is such a great tool to have.Love this product!!!!!!

This has given my child his independence back!
I rarely write reviews, but this one was important to my family. I was very nervous about this holding up my sons weight, let alone what it boasts. My 9 year old (now 11 next month) had a brain bleed, with surgery, radiation and then multiple strokes. He got up to 168 lbs on meds. He lost his large and fine motor skills and has been wheelchair-bound. With therapy, determination, and loads of prayers he is gaining his mobility back. Since he is at “that tender age of wanting privacy” I needed him to be able to shower on his own. This product has held up everyone in the family and gave him his freedom back! It has not moved or slid or let us down after several months of regular use for 4 people. I even find myself using it! Very VERY pleased! I recently got 2 more for my aging parents!

A replacement for an Oxy that lasted five years. Isn't 5 years pretty good?
I should start this with the last paragraph where I've already given this five stars, told you how to apply this bar in 5-10 seconds, and why I'm getting anothe, the shorter one. If you want to read about my history with shower (or bath) grab bars, be my guest...About 10 years ago, I started to have poblems with balance. It was bad enough when I was out hiking, but I soon became concerned about slipping and/or falling in the shower. I bought a suction grab bar made by Oxy (?) and after five years it began to slip in its position on the shower wall, and last spring it started to fall off at least once a week. Seems to have good suction, but two weeks ago, I took a good look at it off the wall. The suction pads had cracked and I knew I needed a new suction bar. When I need something like this poduct which has been around 50 years, I look at what's available on Amazon. After 22 years of reading (and writing reviews), I've learned to read the one star first, and then the five star. Very often, I toss out all of the one star. A review based on the customer's carelessness is ridiculous. And those reviews with one stars because the product came damaged or "didn't work as expected" are of little value. I look at four star reviews as most reliable. That said, I'm giving this shower bar five stars! Our shower is a "one-piece" molded kind. We have no tiles and, therefore, this bar should stick well, and it sure did. I "installed" (press two levers and the thing grips the wall, the same as all the other suction products). It stuck! Boy, did it stick. I had to get a little air under the cups in order to move it. I eyeballed where I wanted it, put it in place, and repeated the five second process. I will be very surprised it this moves, falls, or doesn't protect me when I have my klutz moment. I am so pleased, I'm ordering the shorter one for the front wall (at an angle to the left of the shower head). The color changes when you're snapping these bars into place is just a gimmick. (I don't think this one has a green or red indicator ... and neither did the one that was up for five years.) When you press the tabs, the suction cups will immediately hold if you've provided even a little pressure. Don't worry if you you need to adjust it: just lift the two little tabs and get some air under the cups ... and move it.Simple. So easy to install, I'm reluctant to use the word, "install." Moveable, but take a minute or two to decide where you want it. I put mine on at an angle because it's best if there's an angle to grab on to. Horizontal bars are fine for hanging a towel or washcloth, not so good keeping 180 pounds upright.

Missing the card
Instructions state there is a plastic card to remove these. There was no card in mine. I had to relocate mine when I first installed it because it wasn’t perfectly level how I wanted it. These are stuck on very tight to a fiberglass tub. I used a wet credit card to pry it up. That works. Other than the missing card, they seem very solid, stay in place, and able to hold a full grown adult easily without budging. Sturdy, secure, strong suction, easy to install, and helpful product.

Very stable.
I read some reviews that said it didn’t stick on the fiberglass and hold but I bought it anyway. It did not stay on one side the first time I tried it but moved it a bit and works wonderfully. I think the surface was uneven my first try. Anyway, this makes me feel safe from falling in the shower.

Sturdiness
These are really nice and sturdy. Plus they fit on 4x4 tile squares. I had to send another brand back because the suction cup was to big to adhere to my tile.

Safe Grip
I got these after my wife slipped in the shower. I didn't want to drill into the shower walls so I thought I would try these. They were easy to install but did require a bit of strength to push down the levers. I was amazed at how strong they were and held my weight easily. But I did notice the next day while showering that while grasping one of the bars that the suction on one side of the bar came loose and I had to reset it. They seem to work great and I would recommend them if you're in the need of shower bars just use caution and test them to make sure they are secure prior to putting your full weight on them. They are easy to reset so be safe.AG

Removable???
Beware. The mounting cups are not just suction cups but also have adhesive. Once mounted I don’t see how they are removable without destroying the mounting pads. I mounted one a tiny bit out of level and tried to dismount to relocate but could not get it unstuck from the tile.

Great suction
I bought this product because I didn’t want to put up a grab bar that required me to drill through my tile.I was hoping that it would be secure, and it is! Also, I can remove it and take it with me if I need it when I go on vacation. It must be secured to tile, and not over a grout line.Very pleased with this grab bar.

Suction
Safety is number 1. Be sure to double check that the suction it is not compromised each time you go to use it. It tends to loosen after a few uses. I think that is to be expected given it is not permanently attached.
