Great book, amazing book, incredible book - Get it!
I bought this to give to a friend after I listened to the book on tape - read by the author. Nothing but high praise for this. Whether you prefer to read it or listen to it you'll love it - its one of the best books on high-level communication & connection that I've read (or heard) in years. Maybe ever!

Good Concept and Reminders
There are some great reminders in this book. It's a fairly fast read with some good take aways. I did find some of the recap points a little disjointed from the actual content and you definitely have to be willing to ignore the authors ego at times, but all in all I would recommend it. I liked the focus on being willing to take action and fail and the lessons about personalizing your relationships and communications.

/Blū' - fish - ing/: Verb. Getting things done, often characterized by passion, persistence, and "ugliness."
Here's the deal: I'm friends with Steve. I love the man, and I'm proud to say that I'm a Bluefish Client. But what I write below is the unvarnished, transparent truth. If I didn't like it, I wouldn't post this. This book was excellent. I didn't want to wait for the hardback version to come in the mail (it subsequently came in yesterday), so I listened to the Audible version of the book in less than two days, just digesting it, and nodding my head in agreement at nearly all of the wisdom Steve had to impart. For starters--the book is inspirational. I mean, I LOVE that it's really a "how to" guide of how to make things happen and to get people to say YES, but the first part of the book is about a bricklayer who was born on the wrong side of the tracks in England. He was supposed to be destined for a rather ordinary life, given his circumstances. But the life that Mr. Sims has lived is anything but ordinary. From being a bouncer at bars in Hong Kong, to "smiling and dialing" selling insurance--to becoming the most exclusive Concierge on the face of the Earth--his story is simply amazing. When I got through with it, I was filled with a sense of, "I can do that, too."And DOING THAT is what the book teaches. It's the majority of the book. Some of the peals in the book:Frame the ask. Don't ask in a way where the person can say, "no." Instead, ask, "How can this happen?" Get them involved and excited about doing something that's an "exponential" WIN/WIN for everyone.Get someone credible to make the introduction. It gets your foot in the door and lets people know that you're for real. The fine art of gift giving. Steve says correctly that secretaries don't open gifts. They get through to the person you want and don't get sidetracked by the well-meaning gatekeepers. All communication is personal. Don't hide behind emails, Facebook 'likes', and Tweets. Get on the phone. Meet someone face to face. Make them feel special and do things JUST for them. It's a lost art, but I hope this will be making a comeback due to Bluefishing.Passion and persistence are omnipotent. If you truly believe in what you're doing, you have an OBLIGATION to get it to people, and to do that as vigorously as possible.Don't be just 'authentic,' be TRANSPARENT. Be YOU. You are unique, there's no one just like you, and all of that pretense just puts up a wall between you and others. There are a lot more, but I don't want to rob you of the chance to get it straight from Steve himself.I LOVED this book, and I will be getting it for quite a few friends. If you're reading this review--please do yourself and the world a favor: get the book, and implement it.Thank you for putting this book out, Mr. Sims. The world is a better place for it.

Packed full of life-changing advice
It's rare that I come across a book that I'd say is truly "original." Steve Sims has done it with this book. It's packed full of life-changing lessons and advice on living better, working smarter, and making things happen.Steve openly shares real-life examples of how putting what he calls "Bluefishing" principles to work in your life and business can open new doors and opportunities in your life and business. He does a masterful job of storytelling to draw you in and then he connects the story to the concept he's teaching so you can make it real in your life.I thought it would be a fast read at first, but I ended up underlining so much of the book, re-reading the lessons and thinking through how to apply what I was reading that it became a study for me.His beliefs, while not explicitly pointed out, shine through in the book (almost at a subconscious level) and are worth adopting if you want to make things happen as he has. To make things happen like he does, you have to try on his way of "thinking" and "believing" in things like he does. This starts with his belief that anything is possible and there's always "a way" to make it happen. He's a big thinker and learning how to think big like him is worth far more the price of the book.SO good.

Great Book: Informative, Inspiring and Fun!
I loved this book. I have bought it for many of my friends, family & colleagues, and I recommenced it to all.Steve has a very real way of sharing his incredible experiences so the audience wants to join in. I have implemented much of the mindset about building relationships and I have used "don't be easy to understand, be impossible to misunderstand" over and over again as I build my branding. It is such an entertaining book full of great examples that have worked for Steve in building his fantastic business and inspiring for others.. Branding, mindset, relationships, and making things happen... This down-to-earth guy shows the way.Since reading this book more than once, I have also followed Steve on his podcasts, his Friday night Happy Hours, SimsDistillery.com and look forward to the Speakeasy with him in Nashville. You could say I am a bit of a fan of all his work!

Nothing new here - Just one big promo for his events company
I had high expectations for this book but was pretty disappointed. There is the odd amusing anecdote but mostly it's a rehash of thinking from Tony Robbins and other business, leadership and other self-help gurus. Steve tries really hard to make the idea of 'Bluefishing' a thing for people to buy into outside his company but it just doesn't stick.Mostly this book is one big promo for his events company and other off-shoot businesses.Further, based on how the book is written - wordy and repeated examples dragged out longer than they need to be it feels bland and ghost-written.Save your money and just look up Steve Sims on YouTube. You'll find the only interesting bits of the book right there for free.
