11/29/19 - Product's BEST BUY DATE was only 60 days away. I contacted Bulk Supplements and due to the weekend? I'm waiting on their final reply. Was happy to get a quick canned response however. I'll update hopefully in a few days. I use it to up my protein in LC waffles but wouldn't use it up before the end of January, that's not enough time. 12/17/19 UPDATE - I found out a couple things and wanted to share with you ... 1. It's the order fillers at Amazon who are responsible to remove "almost expired or expired" products, for Bulk Supplements, probably others, too. So I called Amazon, to start a complaint, the Amazon rep listened, apologized, and offered to send me a replacement. That was cool ... until I rec'd the NEW Casein powder and it had the identical "almost expired" date Again. Amazon are you listening ? 2. Sealing Bulk Supplements .... I've read numerous complaints about trying to get their pouches sealed securely. This is what I experienced ... seal is different than a regular ziplock, it's wider. If I laid the pouch on my countertop and used something harder than my fingers, like the handle on a stainless steel bread knife, it closed beautifully. Maybe it is just my imagination and an optimistic wish, but I swear I felt more intelligent and sharp after about 2 weeks of using this product! I used the 'whey' product and did not notice any significant change, however that does not necessarily mean it was not helping and I MAY go back to it and use it WITH the 'casein' later, but for now I am ordering more 'casein'. I use 5 spoons of this at breakfast 2 times per week (more often would be more optimal, but I am attempting not to get "carried away" with this on my personal budget). I mix this with cooked breakfast cereal, semi - melted ice cream, yogurt, cottage cheese etc.. The taste is actually pretty much a NEUTRAL, bland, flavor and does not much complicate the flavor of the food one mixes it into or overwhelm the taste. The research I read is that the 'casein' is processed and digested much more slowly than 'whey' and for that reason is more valuable for being utilized by the body and mind.

I'm not sure yet if the product is effective because I've only used it for 1 day but otherwise the product is exactly what I was expecting, and it arrived in a timely manner. One issue with the packaging -- it is sealed when I get it, but the zip-lock part of the bag is not closed, so when I go to cut off the top of the packaging, the casein powder goes all over the place. If the zip-lock was sealed, I think this process would be easier for the user. I ended up pouring it the product into a tupperware container to store it instead of using the zip-lock bag to reduce the mess. However, I do think that this packaging is better than the plastic tubs that most of these products come in, because it would be easier to recycle.

This was my first order from Bulk Supplements, I have to say I'm happy with it and they seem like a solid company. You pretty much get what you pay for, the price is very fair because they skip all the fancy stuff like flavoring and extra stuff in the powder and give you exactly what you ask for. The one thing that can be looked at as a pro or con about the product is the unflavored part, for me the first time I mixed it with just plain water it was too hard to take down because of the thick consistency it makes. If you buy this product be prepared to make it into something like a shake because this stuff feels like glue if mix it with just water in my experience. Overall good product, you get what you ask and pay for and they leave the rest up to the individual. Also I am one with a sensitive stomach, this caused no problems after I drank it.

This is the first time I have tried casein powder, and I am extremely happy with it! I use it in green smoothies as a breakfast replacement. I wanted something that would keep me from feeling hungry too soon before lunch, and my understanding is that casein is a slower digesting protein powder compared to some other types. This definitely keeps me going for a long time. I also wanted to find a fairly pure product without added flavors or artificial sweeteners. This only has casein and soy lecithin. In the past I have tried soy, hemp, and rice protein powders, and most give a gritty texture to the smoothie that my children object to. This powder has no odor or flavor that I can detect and absolutely NO grittiness in our smoothies! Wonderful. The only thing I would change is the package zipper seal - it can be difficult to get lined up correctly for a proper tight seal.
