Bothy Threads Fairy Tales Counted Cross Stitch - Wizard of Oz

Got this for Christmas and I love it! Trouble is now I want to complete the set 😊

Bothy threads do some amazing cross stitch kits. There patterns and instructions are always good and easy to follow. The fairy tales collection is amazing! However, the 3 stars are for the quality of threads. I do a lot of cross stitch and only ever have trouble with knotting when using bothy threads floss. The floss in this kit is not the best, especially the metallic thread. It was all separated and mixed in with the black and the red is more like plastic.

I love Bothy Threads cross stitch kits, and finding this one of the Wizard of Oz was great as it's my favourite film. The background is nicely multicoloured, and reminds me of the Emerald City in the film. The instructions, as is usual with Bothy Thread Kits, are easy to follow, and are printed on good quality paper, and are very easy to read and mark off as you go. My only critisism would be the same as the other reviewer, the quality of the black threads isn't as good as the other kits I have done before, and nowhere near the DMC or Anchor thread quality I use quite often. The black threads do resist being pulled through the material and do knot far worse than any threads I have used before. I marked it down a star simply for that reason as the kit itself is really good. For the price of the kit I just wished they had used a better quality thread as the entire picture uses black and it's frustrating to keep untangling knots. That being said, I would recommend this kit. I will be sending back the review form from the kit to Bothy Threads to suggest that a better thread is used in future kits.
