Not just for fans...!
I felt I should write this review in the hope that non-wwe fans will read it and consider buying the game. It is, in my opinion, a very good game in it's own right. I'm not a wrestling fan at all, but this game is probably the one that's spent the most time on my screen this year so far.I bought the game so my partner and I had something to play together. She's really into the whole wwe world. She watches the ppv events, has all the dvds, collects the action figures, etc etc.. I however am not a fan. Never have been. So my expectations were not high. After 10 minutes of play though, I found myself grinning from ear to ear, and bashing the buttons like an absolute maniac. Lol.The game itself has a control system that is a doddle to learn, but a little more tricky to master. But you'll have the basics down very quickly, pulling off theatrical moves with ease.I won't go any further into the plot/theme of the game, you can read the other reviews for that.. I'm trying to make a different point which I will outline below..It's not just a case of picking a character and playing through a story. Of course, that is part of it, but there is so much more. The whole game is highly tweak-able. Almost every single aspect of game play can be changed. You can design a wrestler from scratch, and tweak everything along the way. Theme music can be added via your ps3's playlists, and you can add your own logos and images to the character's clothing via a simple paint programme (included). Many people will love all that. It's kinda like the beginning part of any Sims game. Only infinitely more so. Honestly, I spent a good four hours designing a character, backstory, stage costumes, scenes, theme music, tattoos, clothing, everything. And as the game itself is easy to play, this makes the whole thing all the more enjoyable.Personally, I don't recognise any of the references in the game. Characters' voices, clothing, locations, etc.. But according to my missus they are all spot-on. And she's an uber-fan. So it must be right. All I know is that if you're looking for a decent fighting game that's a little out of the ordinary, then you could do a lot worse than this game. It's so much fun, it's easy to play, the sound and graphics are decent, the level of customization is almost infinite, and (apparantly) it's an accurate representation of the real thing.I'm no bigger a fan of wwe that i was before i bought this game, i've not been converted, lol, but i have learned a lesson - take a gamble and buy a game that you wouldn't ordinarily go anywhere near. You won't regret it.I'm now wondering if i've been denying myself lots of fun with other games because of my incorrect assumptions about not liking the activity that the game is based on.

great
2010 svr is a great game, gameplay is fantastic and smooth and reversing has been made easier by just making it a 1button.the storymodes are great and have some great matches and characters to unlock, though i was disappointed they didnt have many WWE legends obviously because of the Legends of Wrestlemania game, would like to see it back again with some new legends added, e.g Eddie Guerrero for example.matches are great fun, the Royal Rumble being massively improved by adding different ways to eliminate your opponent and adding Rumble Finishers. The championship scramble for example is great fun and the money in the bank ladder match is great too however i was suprised to see the infamous buried alive match taken out. The elimination chamber also great but they have taken out that you cant smash your opponent into the perspex chambers like before. was gutted with that.as for the Create a wrestler, it has been revamped letting you now have 4 different costumes which is great but they now have a point system of 48 to create your star now and also the announcers names r pretty generic rather than hearing your own name being announced as you come to the ring.also you can only use our created star 10 times in the new create a story mode which is very disappointing.as for the create a story it good fun but it is very tedious and can be confusing, also some scenes need to be added to make it better. i.e if undertaker comes to the ring the lights go out.i chose not to bother as it is very long winded.gone is the general manager mode which i was looking forward to this year but the gameplay does make up for it for sure.would like to see bit more improvement in the create a story mode and the general manager mode put back, and abit more action behind the scenes like in WWE Smackdown here comes the pain. also some new legends added to the roster as well as the norm, aka hogan (although he is with TNA now), rock, austin and bret. would also like buried alive bought back into the game and some new matches for example the boiler room brawl, punjabi prison match and the bull rope match.all in all it is a great game and has a good longativity with it, ive completed the game but still have a dose of kickin john cenas teeth down his throat whenever i get the chance and creating old legends is always fun.

Terrible Game
Terrible game, by far the worst controls and move system ever invented. Some of the buttons are only used at certain points in the match when you are standing in the right place and all the special moves seem to be utilising the right stick. The animations are a bit forced and choppy combat is not smooth. You have to play it to understand how bad it is. Didn't bother playing more than a few times as the controls were so terrible it made the game irritating. Graphics are fine, pretty good infact but thats the only good thing I can think of. If you like wrestling games and don't mind the sucky control system then you may enjoy it but I didn't.
