I tried to install them on a changing table dresser that was solid wood. I had to take them off because the magnet wasn't strong enough to open the lock through the wood. Will be good if you don't have a very thick wood but unfortunately they didn't work for me.

Doesn’t work at all. Installed on the two doors below our sink where you keep all the cleaning supplies and dishwasher pods. Magnet is not strong enough to open it so now we’re stuck trying to figure out how to get into our own cabinet just so that we can take them off. The magnet was working on the mechanism when the door was open but the second we closed it it’s not strong enough I guess to move the mechanism out of the other piece.

We first purchased the traditional lever-based clip....if they were designed to keep children out, then we have extraordinarily weak children in this country. We then purchased these....work great. Nice and strong. Minor inconvenience with the magnet, but well worth the effort.

Perfect. Easy to customize so we can turn it off when the kids aren't around.

I have a 2 yr old that likes to drink syrup straight from the bottle. All syrups, pancake, chocolate, maple, etc. He has figured out everything else we have tried to prevent him from getting in the cabinet. These magnetic locks did the trick!! We put the key on the side of the fridge (between the fridge and wall so he can’t use a chair to climb) where his short arms can’t reach it. So far it has kept him out of the cabinet (and the syrups!)!!!

I finally installed these in my house since my kiddo is getting more and more curious. I LOVE THESE!!! No drilling necessary, though you can if you want to/feel you need extra support.I'm pleasantly surprised this worked on my cabinets since they're old school solid wood and they're quite thick. Works like a charm. Highly recommend *thumbs up*
