Do I need a stethoscope to use this cuff?

Yes. This is a manual sphygmomanometer and requires a stethoscope to hear Korotkoff sounds and obtain accurate readings. A stethoscope is not included.

What if the cuff isn’t building pressure when I pump?

The cuff will not build pressure unless it is wrapped securely on your upper arm and the valve knob is fully closed. Fasten the cuff, turn the knob toward you until it stops, then begin pumping. Pressure should start to build immediately.

Which arm should I use to measure blood pressure?

Either arm can be used. For the most consistent results, use the same arm each time and keep your arm supported at heart level while seated and relaxed.

Why do my readings vary if I take them close together?

Blood pressure can change due to movement, posture, stress, or breathing. Wait at least three minutes between readings and keep cuff placement and body position consistent.

Does this sphygmomanometer need calibration?
