Tacstar Shotgun Sidesaddle 6 Shot Shotshell Carrier (Winchester 1200/1300)

Installed onto my stevens shotgun, love it! Had to cut my handgrip a bit, but install was smooth!

Perfect sidesaddle for the hard-to-accessorize Winchester 1300 Defender. There are different bases for different shotguns, it appears, and the one for the Defender is well designed. It is held with a single screw which goes through the detent pin hole behind the trigger, then the front of the sidesaddle fastens to the side of the ejection port with a clip which attaches to the sidesaddle base with two screws. I found the fit of the ammo holder very good; able to fully insert 6 rounds (some sidesaddles get more crowded as you load them, so the last round either doesn't go in to the base, or is just very tight. Not an issue with this one), and they stay there, even if the bases of the rounds are down. About a 5-10 minute installation. Two allen wrenches are included, one for the big screw at the rear, and another for the beensy screws that hold the shell holder to the base plate and fasten the clip to the baseplate. Be sure to use loc-tite on the screws.

Perfect fit for my Winchester 1300.

fits a savage/steven320 but, you either have to replace the front handguard with winchester 1300 fore grip or cut 4.5 inches for the rear of the fore grip. Nice for the money, wish it could have a metal shell holder like a mesa tactical but that's also triple the cost though.

The side saddle lined up well on the reciever of my Winchester 1300 but some material needed to be removed from the plastic shell holder to obtain a correct fit of the metal bracket into the side of the loading bay. It would torque the reciever with very little tightening of the retainer screw that takes the place of the trigger assembly pin. The slide was beginning to jam. After some slight adjustment everything tightened up appropriately.
