I love these. Pentel quality and a really nice feel in the hand. I learned to draft in college by hand (I'm old) And these are great for sketching out designs before I proceed with CAD or modeling software. They're just great pencils. I've also given these as gifts to people who I know appreciate good design and quality manufacturing.

First, I have a confession to make. I'm a pencil obsessed person. It's true, I have over 600 colored pencils, 30+ mechanical pencils, and an odd assortment of pens (not pencils, but still). I just plain love them! Especially the classic/antique-ish stuff. . . Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I want to point out the best part of the Pentel GraphGear 500 Limited Edition Mechanical Pencil set . . . Almost everything! Let's start with the Limited-Edition part. Pentel has brought back this classic and arguably one of the best mechanical pencils ever made! There are few mechanical pencils that have the smooth lead advance of the GraphGear 500. And with the slim barrel, you won't have to extend the lead as far to make good, clean lines. The body of the pencil has a very comfortable metal mesh grip that doesn't feel like it's trying to sand off your fingerprints. The pencil size is average but doesn't cramp hands during long use. The weight of the pencil is appreciable. Not a feather, and not a cannon ball . . . just right. And the balance, IMO, perfect. The lines from the lead are always clean and crisp. I love the smoothness of the marks. It's almost a guilty pleasure to draw with this masterpiece. Pentel made the right choice to go with modern break-resistant lead which lasts a very long time. You won't be disappointed, unless you try really hard. Now for the "almost" part. The thing I don't like about this set is that I can only use one at a time. Come on people! Why can't we have four hands! Er, uhm.... never mind. This set is amazing! If you are into drafting, architecture, drawing, or just having a collector's item of brag-worthy display, this is the perfect pencil set for you. Enjoy!

One of the best mechanical pencils ever made, no joke! My father (retired now) was an architect for many many years, and I remember him bringing home the coolest stationery. There have been many great pens and pencils that have come and gone from his drafting table, but this model was one he kept in his pocket at all times. I’m kindda like him now. Everything feels right and solid about this pencil. I saw the vintage colors are awesome!!!! My favorite is the cream colored one. One negative about this set is that the foam slots in the packaging look like they were made for a different pencil, but oh well, no big deal (so consider that if you’re thinking about gifting these). The pencils are still worth getting. I actually loved them so much I got two sets!

Love this set of mechanical pencils so I added it to my collection of writing equipment. Pentel always has good designs and colors that designate different size lead making it easy to assign them to different lead types when drawing. Fit comfortably in your hand like my other Pentel pencils, good quality as they have not had any issues since I have bought them. I prefer the metal grips and glad I was able to find these at a good price. Would definitely recommend for any mechanical pencil users.

I’m always on the lookout for a good mechanical pencil, that feels right in my hand. Balance and weight is nice, sourcing the 0.3. and 0.9 leads might be fun but this is a nice set. Packaging was great, and delivered quickly. Amazon good again and reasonably priced too.

These pencils are well-constructed and have that vintage aesthetic that plays right into my preferences. The set includes a nice variety of graphite weights, thus being suitable for multiple use cases.

Comprei acreditando que estava adquirindo algo no nível de "edição limitada". As lapiseiras são legais e as cores valeram a pena. Mas a embalagem é ridícula: o baixo relevo da caixa não foi feito pra esse modelo de lapiseira; elas simplesmente não cabem ali. Além disso, a parte da embalagem quem tem os grafismos é simplesmente uma luva muito, mas muito mal feita.

As others have mentioned, it seems like the case may have been re-purposed. It is what it is, the box looks nice on the outside regardless, and the pencils are what you would expect. Good value for 4 of them, nice colors, and gives you a good assortment of lead sizes - I'm happy with it :) They're nice pencils, no bells and whistles but the metal grip is nice, plastic body. I'm using the 0.5mm and 0.7mm ones for colored lead that matches the color of the pencils.
