Gear Set - 24 Gears

Heavy duty plastic - I used them on a mini windmill project that actually pumps water through a 1/4 galvanized tubing/pump system. stood up to the challenge just great and most likely I will be ordering more. Tight fit, excellent size range and all the colors have the same size pieces so there is no tom foolery where only the blue go with blue and only the red go with red.... They all work together beautifully. Having the "pitman" arm holes come pre drilled makes it super easy to not have to guess where the perfect spot should be and the tiny inserts that resize the axels to a smaller gauge is wonderful bonus - Great Product

These are molded thermoplastic gears. They can probably handle the torque from almost any small electrtic motor that runs off of flashlight batteries. All but the pinions are both spur gears and bevel gears. So you can use them for paralell shafts (spur gear) or shafts at right angles (miter gear). The mitering on the gears is 45 degrees instead of a true miter so they will not take the kind of torque that they could if they were made properly. On the other hand, since the mitering is the same on all of the mitered ones, they all mesh with each other. When I run out of gears I will buy more of these.

I will be back for more of these things. Much better than expected. A nice surprise when I saw they were also beveled. Now feel confident they will get the job done, and even eliminate a quandary on a different project.

A bit overpriced for what you are getting. If you are looking for colorful plastic gears, though, there is no need to look further.

I was surprised to find a very nice assortment of beveled gears in with this pack of gears. Im not sure if that's always the case or not, but there were plenty in the bag I got. A nice little assortment for the tinkerer. I think I'll order another bag.

Great colors. Teeth also angle so gears can run at 90 degrees.

I am using these gears for a small prototype project. I'm impressed with their quality and sturdiness and they are working out great!
