Wilson Electronics 4G Omni Residential Antenna 700-2700 MHz, 75 Ohm (304421)

I have a Wilson repeater installed in a home with aluminum siding that is on the edge of cellular service. Originaly I had a directional antenna pointed towards the nearest tower and it worked well enough for calls. Fast forward a few years and now data is much more important than calls, and providers have placed towers closer to the residence. This omnidirectional antenna provides adequate gain while allowing multiple users to connect to their respective networks. It also isn't subject to being knocked out of alignment with the tower by strong winds. It's worth noting no antenna is perfect. A good rule to choose your antenna by is if you have good service where the outdoor antenna is going to be, an omni will be fine. Another consideration for omni antennas is having adequate seapration of the indoor and outdoor units. As I mentioned, the house this is installed is sided in aluminum, so it's essentially a giant Faraday cage so feedback is minimal. If signal levels are on the weak side, choose a directional unit for maximum gain and better reception.

Replacement for existing antenna

Appears well made. Should stand up to the weather. Time will tell. Have purchased Wilson for years and have no complaints. Tech support is okay.

BEWARE! I received the item and it is not Wilson brand. It was also opened and non-functional. This appears to be a new business practice by Amazon now that they have cornered the retail market. This is the second time in the past few months we have ordered an item, received a lame facsimile, and then were told only 1 day later; "too bad...the item you ordered at the very low price you bought it at is no longer available". I have spent alot of money on Amazon over the years, but it appears the tide is changing.
