Clairol Nice'n Easy Crème, Natural Looking Oil Infused Permanent Hair Dye, 5G Medium Golden Brown

I have used this before but forgot about it plus I like to try new things and some of them are probably about twice the price ! Anyway, I am 74 and recently retired from the NHS and my hair has been dyed brown for a long time now, but following an illness which knocked me off my feet for over 3 weeks, I did not bother with my hair and as it grows fast, ended up tying it back. The grey soon appeared at a fast rate of knots and my hair looked bedraggled with a slightly orange hue at the sides, probably where the sun had changed the colour - it look awful and made me feel about a hundred. Although I have thick hair it has gone slightly thinner at the front so all in all I was very unhappy with the way I looked. I dyed my hair yesterday after spending ages choosing something that I thought would not turn overly dark and what a transformation ! I am so happy and this has lifted my spirits immeasurably ! The colour has dyed my hair light brown exactly as described on the box, made it shine, removed any signs of orange and made it feel a lot thicker. I feel like me again ! I am now done with expensive brands that promise the earth but do not deliver and will stock up on this colour because it delivers on every level. I left this on for 25 minutes and that seems about right for me, and ensures that the colour is just right.

I have used this hair colour a few times now. My hair is naturally Auburn and trying to re-create that, now I am going grey, has proved problematic to say the least. This is the closest colour that I can get although it is still a little pale. I must admit I was a bit put off using it for a while before I actually bought some as I have used Nice n Easy years ago and found the smell to be awful. In desperation I gave in and bought this and was pleased to say that the smell is so much better now thank you hardly notice it at all. It works pretty much like most box dyes work and it’s not too difficult to apply although I mix it in a hair dye bowl and use a brush to apply it because that works better for me. I like that after rinsing it you can use shampoo, as a lot of hair dyes say that you can’t use this, and it does make your hair feel cleaner which I like. The overall colour is good but I just wish it didn’t fade quite so quickly. My hair has been damaged in the past but I didn’t find this made it any worse and the conditioner that is included really helps my hair to feel softer. As mentioned, this is slightly lighter than I really would like so I did try one shade darker which was a big mistake and so I will definitely go back to this colour. I think the price is fair and it is obviously a whole lot cheaper than having your hair done in the salon!

I have been using Nice n Easy 5RB (auburn) for years and have been very happy with it. Now I’ve decided to go back to my natural medium to dark brown. I wanted to do it gradually so bought Nice n Easy 5. It’s a lovely medium brown. Flattering and natural looking. It’s a neutral colour, neither warm nor cool tones. My hair is shiny and very soft, as always after using this brand. I would happily continue with this colour if it matched my roots but unfortunately I need to go a bit darker. Easy to apply, doesn’t drip and smells ok.

My hair is 60% grey. First hair dye I've used that actually covered it all. Very impressed! Shade is a little darker than on box so I would recommend going one shade lighter.

So disappointing! Was expecting a nice brown with golden tones. This turned my hair black.

Ließ sich gut verteilen. Kein starker und stehender Geruch, wie man es bei manch anderen kennt. Super Deckkraft!

The colour has not taken on my hair, as Iit usually use nice and easy.
