It's massive! Yes, I had measured (the height at least), and 'jumbo' would suggest that it's big. I wasn't prepared by just how thick the shaft was. I'd even looked at photos, but it still hadn't really 'clicked' on just how big it was, I was quite shocked when I first saw it, it's a beast, and then I questioned where I was going to put it.Don't get me wrong, it's a great post! It's all quality, even down to the toys hanging from the top. It's sturdy, with a solid thick base, no way it's ever going to tip over. The rope is thick, and attached well, it should be a long time before my cats get through this one.It arrived quickly and VERY well packed. There was a slight smell (glue I think) for about a week, didn't seem to bother my cats though.I think the only thing I'd change, or add, are some toys a little lower. My younger cats has no problem climbing up to have a good chew of the toys at the top, but my older cat isn't going to climb it. Maybe make the toys detachable and relocatable.So to conclude, it's a great post that should last for a long long time, but just make sure you know how big it is before you order, as unlike other posts which don't really get in the way, you really need to plan to accomodate this beast!

This scratching post is about twice the size in all dimensions than the standard ones commonly found. I noticed that my cat was having to bend his back after reaching the top of the standard sized post. Not with this one. He can fully stretch upwards with as much room again to spare. He frequently climbs up it and sits on the top where he can survey his surroundings and pull on my shoulder if I happen to be walking past. The toys attached to the top get frequent abuse. The product, I think, is made in Germany, quite sturdy and well made. If it doesn’t last long it will be the fault of the cat rather than the product.

We have a Rag Doll who couldn’t completely stretch on a standard scratching post. This seemed like a good solution. When it arrived we laughed at the size of it, however it's absolutely perfect. Our cat loves to climb it like a tree and stretches all the way with her front paws until her back paws just leave the ground. She loves this scratching post! She also loves sitting on the top of it. When we come home she climbs to the top and purrs, waiting for us to greet her. Also, it’s extremely well built and doesn’t move or even wobble when our girl gives a running leap onto it. I cannot recommend this enough, for cats of all sizes.

This is really good, I have 5 big house cats who need to climb, scratch and play and tying post is perfect. It is VERY chunky and could not be easier to assemble. If you have big active cats I recommend.

Got this for my big ginger boy. He's been using my sofa for too long! I'm going to get a new sofa so I thought I'd get this to distract him.Omg! Couldn't believe the size of it. Nor could the delivery guy! BUT what a good investment, you get what you pay for and ginger nuts loves it. Rubbed a bit of catnip on it and up he went. Like a ginger ninja! All the other advertised had kittens super imposed on 12in high jobbys, this is a telegraph pole by comparison. Happy cat, happy me x

Replaces one very similar that the cats shredded the string to. One of my cats likes to climb it and therefore needed to be stable and able to take the weight of an adult cat. Both cats enjoy using this and if it lasts as long as the last one then well worth the cost which has gone up considerably. I do wish we could get the poles restrung as except for the one area the remining parts of the previous one are in good use.

Bought this post because we have a big cat (Maine Coon) and he just pulls over or wrecks any cheap post we have bought before.This post is great for him to stretch his legs and claws rather than my sofa. He climbs up it like a koala Bear and try's to sit on top not yet achieved.Made from strong material's and should last. Your cat will love it. Yes it's a bit expensive than other posts but you get what you pay for and this is the Roll's Royce of scratch posts.

My two young cats are very happy with their scratching post. It is easy to assemble and sturdy. The cats use it every day. They play with the attached toys and I have added two more to make it longer. As they are house cats they appreciate having a post to climb, one cat has already sat on the top. I am very pleased with my purchase too, as the cats have now stopped clawing the furniture. Recommend.
