This Beautiful Story Ruined by a Poor Kindle Implementation
This is one of the best books ever written. If you are reading it in English then you need to get the Katherine Woods translation (which this is). The problem is that this Indian company created this Kindle version and added their own illustrations and then did not properly get the illustrations in the correct position relative to the text. If you are familiar with this story, the illustrations are critical and are led into by the narrative. Having the picture come early before the story explains it is ridiculous. You need to see the Boa Constrictor from the outside (as it is being explained) before you see it from the inside. The added illustrations add no value and actually take away from the originals.I recommend that you find the Katherine Woods version of the book (white not blue) in paperback or hardcover. This is worthless.

This is the original Katherine Woods translation! Thank you Relax Time!!
This is for sure the original Katherine Woods translation in paperback. I am so thrilled to finally find it I have ordered a second copy as a gift. For me it will be the companion to my original French version from the 1960s from one of my best high school friends. She and I read the book together in French class and she gave me a copy of this in French is a gift for Christmas that year in 1969. At one time I thought I also had the same book in Katherine Woods translation but can no longer find it among my possessions after much searching I was thrilled to find this wonderful time honored translation. If you're looking for the original much-loved.. translation by Katherine you've finally found it

NOT the 1970s Katherine Woods translation
NOT the 1970s Katherine Woods translation. I am so disappointed. I received the new colorized paperback version. I already have it and I don't care for it. I also own a German/English copy of the book, which I like. But I really want reprint of the first translation I read. The other English translations are all just lacking.

Very poor execution but affordable Katherine Woods translation
Nice that it's an affordable version of the Katherine Woods translation but the book itself is poorly executed. It looks like they basically got the images online or something and slapped him in here. They're all very low and you can see the pixelation. Also the front cover image is so bad you can see text that was on the back of the sheet from whenever they scanned it. The layout is off center as well. Everything about this screams bootleg. I don't know if it is or not, the quality is indicative of that kind of product.

Only the good version gets 5 stars, not the newer one
The translation by Katherine Woods is one to get. This story may be a nice children's story, but it is so much more. It gives beautiful insight to the development of true friendship. I first received this book from a student when I was a young teacher. I have kept in near my desk for over 40 years. However, you will need to carefully search for this translation. I ordered it from an Amazon vendor, and received the newer translation. I ended up calling book stores and finally found a used copy in a nearby town. Other reviewers have shared some of the problems in the new translation. Here is the worst example that I came across. Here is a quote from the Katherine Woods translation:And then look: you see the grain-fields down yonder? I do not eat bread. Wheat is no use to me. The wheat fields have nothing to say to me.Here is that passage from the newer translation:And look yonder! Do you see the cornfields? I do not eat bread. Wheat is of no use to me. Those cornfields don’t remind me of anything. Most of the others differences are the use of a rather colorless or vague adjectives rather than more refined or meaningful ones. The result is a loss of the essence of significant parts of the story.

NOT the Katherine Woods translation - false description
I received a totally different version than described. Plus, the book had a big bent mark. Returned it right away.

A Timeless Book
I love this book and have for fifty years, but in order to get a new copy of the book, the harvest edition was my only choice. I did not want the "new" translation but instead wanted the original Woods' translation. The only options open to me were first editions, which were quite expensive, and this paperback edition. The Harvest Book is small (smaller than most paperbacks) and was made for students. The illustrations are in black and white. I appreciate getting a copy of the book with the Woods' translation, but I continue to be disappointed that the original book is no longer in print. The "new" translation from 1970 does not have the charm of the original one.

Not the right book inside
I ordered this book thinking it would be 'The Little Prince' by Antoine de Saint-Exupery as per the product description and the cover, but inside is an entirely different book - 'I dare you!' by William H. Danforth. Absolutely unbelievable. If I could give this 0 stars I would have. DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK.

If you are looking for a kindle version of the Katherine Woods translation, this is the one to get!
The Katherine Woods translation of the "The Little Prince" was considered the definitive translation for a long time until recently when several translations began popping up, such as Richard Howard's, among others. By direct comparison, we know that these translations are inferior to Woods', which sadly became more difficult to find especially in an e-book format. Now, however, we have this kindle edition by an Italian publisher that brings back Katherine Woods' classic translation, and we should be grateful. This is the one to get!

Original Katherine Woods Translation
Delightful little book. The images are coloured. I think the original black and white images are better than the coloured but that is just personal preference. Children prefer colour :) This version of the book is the Katherine Woods, in my opinion, and after much research, it is the original and older style english that gives this book it's unique appeal.
