This product has a slightly tricky application method but once you use it correctly, it’s beautiful. Because it’s a serum and pigment hybrid encapsulated in pellets, the pellets must burst before applying it to the face/skin. So don’t apply directly to the skin. On the back of the hand or in your palm, use your CLEAN finger or a brush to burst the pellets completely. Then you can dot onto face or pick up with a brush and THEN apply to the skin. The luxury version works exactly the same way. You must do this first. If the pellets are broken up on the face, the application will be patchy. I LOVE this product. It’s amazing on my very mature skin. It does have coverage, more than you might expect because it is buildable. I do find the shade range runs quite light but the shade “light” does have a neutral undertone which is good but also surprising because so many drugstore complexion products run very warm (either very yellow or quite orangey). I find this product identical to the Chanel Water Fresh Tint but it has better coverage. The luxury version is very sheer but the principle of application is the same. I also like that this drugstore version is unscented or at least has no scent I can detect. The luxury product is highly fragranced and that’s off putting for me. As for wear time, it’s hard to say. I live in Florida and in the summertime I sweat like crazy so I have to use a waterproof setting spray. I don’t use powder because I don’t want to dim the radiance I get with this product. You could definitely do a light layer of powder wherever the shine is too much. It also doesn’t sink into fine lines and it minimizes texture too. All in all this was a great purchase. I no longer see the Perfecting Essence on drugstore shelves but found here on Amazon, yay! This isn’t my first purchase of this product. I first bought the shade fair but it was far too pale. Then I forgot about it until I almost bought the Chanel Water Fresh Tint and remembered this dupe was actually better. I highly recommend this product and this review comes from a retired professional makeup artist. I would keep this in my kit if I were still a working artist.

Yes, this foundation is quite different than anything I've used before, and I've tried a LOT of different brands. I was leery about getting it, due to some of the negative comments, but the price wasn't bad and I really wanted to see what this unique formula was like. First off, I have a hard time finding a good color, but this one (Fair #20) worked well for me. I'm a natural redhead with pale freckly skin, and have a hard time with finding a good color; I either end up with something way too pale that washes me out, or a color that's too orangey or pinkish. I like this color as it's not too light and is also fairly neutral. As for the application, yes, it's a bit different in that you have to break the 'spheres' apart before applying; but it was fairly easy to put some on my hand and then mix it with my finger before I applied it. It went on very smoothly and doesn't look/feel greasy, although I will say the coverage is much more sheer than I anticipated. I generally like a more medium coverage, but this actually worked well; the coverage wasn't bad. I also liked that it didn't settle into my wrinkles, which is important since I'm in my late 60's and my skin tends to be dry with a few wrinkles. Others had mentioned that it caused irritation of their skin, but although I have very sensitive skin, it didn't bother me at all. This is one of the better foundations I've ever tried, and as long as the price stays around the same, I'll definitely be buying it again.

I love the finish on this- my skin looks hydrated but not greasy. The coverage is natural so it evens out your skin tone but isn't flat and mask-like. But go a shade darker than what you would normally choose. I matched mine to the skin tone of the models, and it was too light and sat in my pores. Once I got a darker shade, it was perfect. It looks darker in the bottle than it is on your face. It is water based, so if you wear thick creams or primers, it will pill. I just use a light coat of a gel moisturizer and a chemical sunscreen and let it sink in for about 15 minutes.

It's the perfect option if you prefer a soft, lightweight foundation with natural coverage that doesn't feel heavy on the skin.

I was really hoping this would be a great affordable everyday option after seeing several influencers recommend it. I purchased shade 20 Light and gave it a fair chance, using it for about two weeks. I have extremely dry and sensitive skin—when people say they have dry skin, mine is usually even drier. Unfortunately, this product did not work well for me at all. It emphasized my dryness, didn't sit nicely on my skin, and actually caused irritation and itching. I kept trying to make it work because I wanted to love it, but after about two weeks, I couldn't take the irritation anymore and had to stop using it. It may work for other skin types, but if you have very dry, sensitive skin like I do, you may want to proceed with caution.

This is so watery. Like run off my face watery. The little bubbles of pigment aren’t blending out either. Low value for the money.

I was extremely skeptical of this "foundation" I say that loosely. Even more so when I first put it on my skin. Buy WOW! it looked so beautiful and lasted all night! It gave me great coverage but in the most natural way possible! My skin looked well hydrated and plump. I looked healthy and well rested. I looked great but not made up. The best parts were as I was putting it on it felt like a 1st step essence (korean skincare). When it dried it felt like nothing at all just my bare skin and while wearing it, it did not shift, or dissappear at all. I even fell asleep in it one night and I was shocked I did not break put at all what so ever. Thar has never happened before I always always break put. I did not notice a real smell other than that of like a hyaluronic acid serum type smell. I am pretty sensitive to smell this did not bother me it was just like skincare products. I got so many compliments on how great I looked each time I wore this. I did pair this with a blush stick with a slight glow to it ( wet and wild) a slightly more pink powder blush, just a bit (I don't remember what kind) and a contour stick (wet and wild) and matte powder bronzer (physicians formula) I also had lash Extentions on (diy lilac st lashes) it may sound like alot buy it was very little and all said and done in less than 10mins. I will definitely be buying this again and praying they do not discontinue this "foundation" I am 😍😍😍 I cannot recommend this enough! It's also going to be fantastic for summer!

I want to start but stating that this is not for the full coverage girlies!! This is for the those who want to enhance their skin tone without the look and feel of regular foundation or even tinted moisturizer. I love how this product incorporates skin care and make-up in one. I feel so much better putting face make-up on when there are added benefits mixed in. The initial consistency right out of the pump might be a bit off putting to some people but once you start to blend it, it mixes together quite nicely! (have a look at the pictures I included) When you use it you will think "no way is this going to look good" but it turns out beautifully! This is a tint with minimal coverage. It enhances and evens your skin tone. I truly feel like I am wearing nothing on my face. I like the finish and feel. When compared to other tinted moisturizers, this one is immensely better in my opinion. It is not thick, or creamy. It has more of a gel, hydrating feel. I highly recommend this if you want to wear a little something to make your skin look more awake and healthy. It is great for that no make-up, make-up, clean girl look.

This moisturizer/foundation is perfect for daily wear. It consists of tiny beads coloured in shades from very pale to dark to match various pigments in natural skin. The beads are suspended in a gel-like substance, but dissipate when this is applied to your skin. Gently massaging this (in small circles) mixes the two components and provides an even coverage to your skin. After is is applied, there is a slight glow or shine to your face, however, this disappears after awhile. If you prefer a matte finish to your makeup, this may not be the product for you, but I like the fact that it has a moisturizing effect on my skin for daily use. For evening -- you might want to try the CoverGirl & Olay Simply Ageless 3-in-1 Liquid Foundation which will provide more coverage. This product is also cruelty-free, vegan, paraben-free, fragrance and talc-free and is recommended by dermatologists. I love this foundation and highly recommend it.

Muy bonito acabado, no el mejor pero bonito. Si tienes piel seca hay que prepararla muy bien porque de agarra de las áreas secas de la cara. La cobertura es realmente ligera.
