Great to find out
I enjoyed the book, but it was a bit off putting to go back in time, once I'd gotten into it, I read it OK.It was good finding out about Maddy and her sister, and to know what they had gone through, I felt so sorry for the two of them, I didn't like the fact that the end of the book didn't tell you if the two sister's found each other.I was gutted to read that this was the last novel in this series, I'm very sorry if I spoilt it for other readers, I just had to say this, I can't imagine why it would be the last, there was loads left to write for this delightful series of book, but the author must have her reasons

Oh what a lovely story
Am sad to know that it is the end of the Burracombe series I have enjoyed them so much and the characters have become so real to me I will miss them so much. Thank you so much Lilian, I lived in Tavistock for eighteen years so knew all the places and the moor that you included in the stories.

Catch up
I was slightly unconvinced at the start of the book as it felt like repetition of previous Burracombe books but that soon disappeared and I was as gripped as ever. I have now read every one of Lilian Harry's books and loved them all. I particularly like the way the same characters weave their way through different "series" of stories. I will really miss my Burracombe friends!

Great Read
Great book so far - living up to expectations. However, would also like a new sequel to the other end of the series.

Stella and Maddy
It was lovely to read how Stella and Maddy had survived before Burracombe but so sad to realise this is really the last book in the series. I have really enjoyed reading about the peop!e who lived in the village they became like old friends.

Lilian Harry has done it again
She has added another extreamly readable book to her repertoire. How lovely to hear the story of Maddy and Stella. A must for Lilian Harry fans.

DISAPPOINTING
I am normally a big Lilian Harry fan and have read all the Burracombe books. This last one however goes back in time to when some of the characters are growing up during the war. Knowing the outcome of their lives from previous books I felt that this book was unnecessary and would much rather book 12 to continue where 11 left off. For the first time ever very disappointed .
