I've been using Ager on our slate front porch for several years. I just wipe on a thin coat each spring. After applying, wipe it down to eliminate any excess that will become tacky.This spring, I had a college student helping me with outdoor projects and let him do the Ager application. I forgot to tell him to put it on thin and wipe it down before it sets up. I only came back to it later and realized that I had the tackiness of excess Ager. But it was too late to wipe off.I also called the manufacturer. They told me to wipe on another coat, which would emulsify the Ager that was already on the porch, and then wipe it up before it began to dry. That seemed to work. I did block off access to the porch for a day or two, just to be sure, but it turned out fine.Good luck with your project.

Question 2

Will granite continue to darken with subsequent applications? I have leathered gray and black granite, and I would like to bring out the black.

Yes subsequent applications will " deepen" the effect of the darkening. However, you will eventually reach a point where further applications will not have much affect.  Hope this helpsAnother product to consider is the tenax uniblack (we have that also )Good luck

How to correct tacky application

Reapply.  Dampen a cloth with the sealer.
Rub into a small area. As you rub you should feel the tackiness deminish as the solvent softenes the tacky coating. When all tackiness subsidies, switch to a clean, dry cloth and rub out all traces of wet, damp sealant. This should leave a beautiful, sealed surface.  It is a little work, but well worth the effort! How do you clean, polish and fix the spots that are dull after application?  I have to remove my 3 coats, AGAIN!

I just had a granite counter top installed by a contractor who recommended this product.  It was applied when installed and enhanced the color.  It also made it look wet, but there are spots on it that seemed to resist the seal.  The contractor this is the way it is with stone.  So, I don't have any answer, but thought I would follow his recommendation of applying this with a brush and wiping it off with a lint free paper towel every 3 months.  I also ordered a daily granite cleanser, although I was told I could use plain water to clean it. I was also told never to use Vinegar or Ammonia on it.  Another person said treat it 3 times a year, and another said apply it twice a year.  I plan to treat it when it looks like it needs it.
