Description very accurate, very pleased with quality.
Have a sturdy (not fat), sporty, well built grandson (dad 6'4" and muscular and he is certainly his fathers son), and am used to products which advertise "adjustable waistband" which enlarges from "scrawny" to "skinny" and have a terrible job finding suitable and comfortable school trousers which fit well around the waist instead of sitting on the hips, and not too tight around the top of the legs. The only store who ever got close were BHS "sturdier build" trousers, but they are difficult to obtain in the shop as the buyers from the store obviously have never walked around my town and noticed that there are not an abundance of skinny people here, hence they always have loads of skinny boys long legged trousers for sale at the end of the season. Even M&S were useless where sturdier build trousers were concerned.Feeling optimistic, I ordered an age 10 (he is 9), as I am used to buying anything up to age 13 (depending on where I buy them from) and taking them up. The age 10 fit well, but I must say with these I will probably order more age 9's as the advertising blurb for once is right! The material is quality, with Teflon (thought this was only for saucepans but it works on these trousers) to make them sturdier, they feel as though they will survive the rough and tumble of the playground, climbing trees/walls and climbing frames, running home over the muddiest grass verges and puddles, riding a bicycle and survive a bad winter.Best I have ever come across, happy that he will be able to sit comfortably cross legged on the floor in assembly now, and yes, I will certainly be ordering more!

Good quality
They are bigger than I expected however, that's not a bad thing. They are good quality, I would be even happier if I could get them in navy :)

When they state that these trousers are generous they mean in length and width. I brought age appropriate for my boys who are well built but not tall for their age - these trousers were huge !

I don't normally bother leaving a review on things but I just had to with these trousers. I'm very impressed. My son is and always has been a big lad, he's got a bum and big thighs and is just all around a chunky well built boy. The amount of tears and meltdowns in changing rooms when it comes to buying school trousers is nobody's business and we both always come away with either nothing, or something that he's uncomfortable in, well not anymore. I ordered these two days ago in a size 10-11, my son is 9. He is chuffed to bits with them and they are something he can actually run around in on the yard, play football in and just do boy stuff. They fit everywhere but i may need to take the length up slightly which isn't a problem. I'm over the moon amd will definetly be ordering more. In my opinion all school trousers should be as stretchy around the waist as these are, because children are all different shapes and sizes and shouldn't be made to feel inadequate when buying school uniform 😊

Very generously sized!
My 8 yr old son normally wears normal fit school trousers sized 10-11 because he's tall and chunky but I thought he could do with a little more room so i got these (in size 10-11). They are really quite big. The legs are very long and theres more room than strictly needed at the waistline but they are good trousers. I'm ordering the 9-10 to see how those fit. I'd recommend ordering in your child's age even if you normally order one or two sizes bigger.

Really great fit for a stocky child who is not fat
So so pleased! My ten year old is much larger than average ten year old and even age 14/15 trousers dont always fit. He is stocky around bum and thighs. Usually buy BHS generous fit but age 10 is too short and age 11 is way too big. These are perfect, nice and roomy around the seat and thigh area but they dont have huge baggy legs so they actually look like normal trousers. Im off to order another pair!
