Got this for my girls who have started showing interest in science. Pretty fun little kit.

Pretty neat
Really interesting for kids to make them interested in science experiments to take them out a little bit from watching YouTube nonstop.

Very cool STEM Kit!
This is going to be quite interesting as we haven’t grown crystals since making rock candy an eon ago (did you know different sugar creates different shaped crystals?). This kit comes with enough grow cups with lids and enough crystal powder to grow six different crystals of different colors. The grow cups took some work to get separated as they were stuck pretty tightly together; you must wiggle and jiggle to get them apart, if you try and use brute force, they will crack/break. The instructions just say to use boiling water, but I would imagine (based on the above sugar/rock candy observation) that different quality of water would grow different crystals. A distilled water crystal would look different than filtered water which would look different from tap. I’m not sure that the colors will come out as indicated since this gift hasn’t been opened yet to make our grow attempt. The crystal powder that looks red was marked as being “orange”, the crystal powder that looked orange was marked “yellow” and the crystal powder that looked grey was market “purple”. I’m trying to be patient with this as I really want to see what happens and how they look when they grow. Most of the crystal powder had clumps in it (see blue crystal power photos), similar to when brown sugar gets hard. I was able to get most of the chunks broken apart and I imagine they would have dissolved just fine, even if I hadn’t broken up the lumps. The amount of alum needed to grow the crystals is quite small (2 of the little blue spoons) and you may have some leftover to try growing a crystal from something else. This is a great gift for your favorite budding young scientist and I would buy this again.NOTE: ADULT SUPERVISION NEEDED for younger kids as it requires pouring boiling water into a measuring cup and then into a grow cup.

Fun science kit for the family
Great science experiment for kids! My kids loved growing their own crystals and the LED light up display stand is a nice touch. This kit is a great way to teach kids about crystals and science in a fun and engaging way. Highly recommend!

So fun to watch grow!
I enjoyed doing the Crystal Growing Kit with my kids. They had a lot of fun anticipating what was to come. They do take quite a bit of time to grow. A little longer than other kits I have used. However, overall this is something I like to utilize in STEM teachings. The lights do not accommodate all of the crystals however. You also should not move and touch them a lot. So that is the one thing I dislike. However, it is a great item overall.

Fun science experiment for the kiddos
We've grown two crystals so far and the kids have had fun, enjoyed checking in on their growth day by day. The display is a nice touch as well. My son wants to be able to display more than one at a time on the LED and handling the crystals is a touchy affair. We wish the light up display could accommodate all 6. Only gripe. I'll probably need to build them a lit from below display shelf.

Perfect kit for kids.
My boys loved doing this crystal growing kit and were excited to each make their own “expensive crystals”. Super easy to follow directions.
