I fluctuate between a 40-42 waist. Which side would be the best for me to try?

I fluctuate between 36-38 and I got XL. I can wear a L but they are a little tight.

The kind that is like a vice grip and makes you sweaty at the same time.

Is there an option to have no giant logo on the front, or at least make it the same color as the waistband?

It has giant logo and it does not come with any other option from the manufacturer.

The underwear are very soft - I purchased a large for my husband as he takes a large in other brands but they were too small so I need a XL so make sure to check the sizing but he loves the feel of the material.
