Mid-level science book that has story telling yet still real facts? And is entertaining enough for a 7yo? I found this type of book surprisingly hard to find. It's funny. It shows diversity in who a scientist is. Love that it's like vignettes.

I initially checked this out from the library but had to turn it in before my 8 year old grandsons could fully explore the book. So I happily bought a copy. I really enjoy not only the humor, but the wide variety of scientists (gender, ethic background) and a bit of how they became interested in science and how they go about their work. One grandson wants to be a scientist and it was especially fun for him to come upon the section about gars. I had never heard of this animal but he knew all about them and learned some things new from this book.

It’s rare to find a book like this one that we enjoyedreading just as much as our kids did. It’s wonderfully illustrated and is filled with fascinating information about scientists and the animals they study. There are a number of facts that we learned from the book that we didn’t know and which led to some great questions from my kids. Highly recommend!

Very entertaining read, with engaging subplots in the speech bubbles among the animals. Lots of fun for many ages. Interesting to learn how some very creative scientists got interested in the animals they study and some of the crazy things they do for research.

I love the book but disappointed it was not wrapped in plastic. Book cover ripped in the corner. We also live in a rainy area and the book got a little moisture.

This book is AWESOME! My son loves animals and science, and this book is not only funny and informative, it shows kids that there are adults out there with passion for science and animals, just like themselves. A big hit in our house!

This book profiles a diverse group of scientists around the world who study animals and shines a light on all the crazy things that scientists do to learn more about the world around us. The illustrations are bring and fun, the information is substantial and it also manages to be hilarious!

My 7 year old granddaughter loved this book. I gave it to her for Christmas and she read it immediately cover to cover. I read some of it and found it to be informative and also fun!
