I already opened my bag, but one cup weighs 3 ounces, so figure about 5 1/3 cups per pound.

can you grind these up to make ground allspice?

YES! .... A good pepper mill works very well ... PS: The Allspice pods are hollow and grind up easily!!

Does it have a strong scent without grinding? I’m considering this (vs cloves vs cinnamon sticks) for scenting in a craft; which will smell strongest?

The spice balls smell is strong but I think the cloves might smell the strongest. Just my opinion
