Rust easy if you don’t oil and heat after cleaning. It works great for me otherwise & I would recommend, decent weight but not super heavy. Good buy, I would recommend.

It is exactly what is described... a cast iron smasher with a wood handle. Simple, uncomplicated. Perfect. Disregard the lower rating due to dolts that didn't understand what they were buying and can't be bothered with the most basic of tasks with new items, especially those we're unfamiliar with... READING DIRECTIONS. This is cast iron, just like a cast iron skillet. It needs to be seasoned, just like it says in THE DIRECTIONS. If you don't know what 'seasoned' means, or how to do it, conveniently the seller has put that information in THE DIRECTIONS, or it can be found on YouTube. Additionally, to the downraters who complained about the hash marks on the bottom...who doesn't look at ALL the pictures when buying something?? Stop downrating products because of YOUR own idiocy, or if the product/packaging is damaged from shipping; that's not the product or seller's fault. I highly doubt it, but one can hope that lessons were learned. This is a nice lil smasher for a great price. It just is what it is. Season it, and it won't rust.

Overall, this EWFEN 7" burger press gets the job done and works fine for smashed burgers, bacon, and sandwiches on the griddle or pan. The wooden handle stays cool and gives a nice grip. My only minor complaint is that I wish it were a little bit heavier to flatten things down with less effort, but for the price, it’s a solid, functional tool.
