The hard hold gel does a great job — it gives my curls good definition and definitely lasts longer, which is a big plus. If you wear a head bonnet overnight, your curls can easily hold up for two days. Just a heads-up: you’ll need to scrunch out the gel cast after it sets, so it adds an extra step to your routine. I’m still in the trial-and-error phase, figuring out what works best with it. It seems ideal for high humidity days, but I found the moisture level a bit lacking — at least for my hair type, it didn’t deliver much hydration. That said, if you’re looking for strong hold and curl longevity, this is worth trying.

Not so worthy tbh... After applying it My hairs look exactly how it was looking before so yeah it is not that much great. the price is a bit high also.

Finding a budget friendly hard hold gel is really tough in the Indian market . However, the Manetain hard hold gel turned out to be a holy grail for me . It's economical and made out of clean ingredients. My curls were almost intact till day 5. Though it works better with the Manetain leave in cream . Since , I have started using this gel there has been no stopping for me. I guess I am not going to switch to another gel for a long time . I used the gel in both praying hands and raking method and I got very good results in both the methods. I would definitely like to give a 10 star rating to this product.

This is as far as I know the only hard hold gel made by indian curly hair brands. It gives good hold, better than curlvana gel. It smells slightly like oranges due to essential oil added and the scent fades soon. This is not a moisturising gel so I use leave in conditioner before it. May not work for very dry hair types. I have low porosity loose curls /waves around 2b to 3a and it defines them well, especially if brush styling. It doesn't dry all sticky like curlvana gel and actually forms a hard cast. It has a liquid to gel lime runny consistency. Due to forming hard cast it may not really be easy for beginners to use. This gel doesn't weigh down my hair or overmoisturise it. But the price is too high so I only got 200g one on discount on myntra. I think many of manetain products are overpriced even through this is good quality. But the price is making me want to try other cheaper gels like eco gel to find an alternative. I think you can even get foreign brands hard hold gel for less MRP (like Giovanni LA hold 850 rupees on nykaa, while 200g manetain gel is 899). It contains amino acids so may not suit some protein sensitive hair types.
