Amazing electric mower that can fit through a forfeit gate
We have owned this mower for about a month now and mowed the grass about three times with it. The batteries are able to get through our yard which is a little more than an acre. We were able to drive the mower through our 4-ft gate which was a huge blessing. It's very quiet, and easy to use. It maneuvers around the yard really well. It is extremely heavy, we've never owned a gas riding mower so I don't know how it compares. But this is a very heavy machine. But we love it so much!

Well made and a pleasure to use.
Ego makes quality products and this lawn tractor is no exception. It has several features that I like. The opposite side of the shoot has a small bumper. This bumper prevents damage to the deck if you hit a tree or other obstacle. The battery life is excellent. I have just short of three acres and I have to charge the batteries three times to mow the entire property and I still have some power left over. If you hit tree roots or rocks it'll shut off the mowing deck preventing damage. If your not paying attention to the power gage and are about to run out of power, it'll shut off the blade rotation at about 5 % so that you can get the mower back to where you charge it, unlike a gas more that can run out of gas without warning far from where you store it. This is by far the quietest, the most reliable and the best build riding mower that I have ever owned.

Good mower but questionable battery life
In general, a decent mower with a few negatives. The good: 1) It cuts and mulches extremely well. Very clean cut, hardly a trace of grass and leaves to be seen after a single pass. 2) It's quiet. The bad: 1) The batteries go down way faster than I expected. On first use, starting with 100%, at medium speed and with blades set fairly high over very short grass, I mowed about a half of my 3/4 acres and the battery level was down to 35%. I can't see ever getting anywhere near the "1.5 acres on a charge" that they advertise. Later, the mower kept stalling when running blades with the battery below 20%. I think providing low-end 6.0Ah batteries with the mower is shortchanging the customer. And I'm not about to spend another $2000-$3000 dollars on bigger batteries! 2) If you're just going to mulch, the grass chute on the right side is really in the way. It sticks out really far. Which wouldn't be so bad if it were easily removable. Removing it is not an easy task, but it can be done. 3) The suspension leaves much to be desired. The ride is MUCH bumpier than the previous, heavier, gas-powered mower that I had before this. 4) The brake pedal is VERY hard to press. In summary, I'll keep it, I like it but I'm not in love with it, and I hoped for a little more for the price.

EGO T6 Lawn Tractor
This is the latest edition to my EGO collection of yard tools. I was hesitant due to the extra cost compared to traditional gas powered mowers, but as I researched, I realized that there is very little maintenance on these compared to gas. The battery life described in the product description "Up to 1.5 acres cutting time" is a bit misleading, and I can confirm this to be true. The tractor comes with (6) 6-amp batteries, but can use (6) 12-amp ones if you have them or want to purchase them separately which is a huge cost for a typical consumer. My yard is on a small slope and is roughly just over a half-acre and when I finish it is at about 30% charge remaining. I have tried different blade speeds and drive speeds, and I end with about the same charge each time. The difference is minimal, which can also be due to wet grass, or less thick of a cut. Care of the batteries is very important, and it is a bit of a chore to carry them all from the barn to the house to ensure they aren't damaged by moisture or colder temperatures. I wish there was an easier way to transport them, or a housing I could use to keep them in the barn without worrying about them not being protected. Charging is very easy, as this tractor comes with a charging pack and adapter to charge directly in the tractor without removing the batteries. You can also charge them individually with other EGO chargers from other equipment. The cut quality of this tractor is good, and the blade height control is very simple. One thing I do wish is that the blades do not run in reverse unless you hold down the reverse blade button for 5+ seconds. This resets if you get off the tractor for anything then you need to do it again, which is one of the safety features of the tractor. It cuts off when you get up from the seat. This is no zero turn, but it does turn pretty well. It took some getting used to my first time using it, but I have since figured out better patterns and routes to use to make my yard look great with this tractor. It's been a month and 4 or 5 cuts and so far I have enjoyed this lawn tractor. One last thing I want to add, is that the included quick-connect hose attachment to clean the deck makes cleanup after cutting a simple 2 minute task. I wanted to get a mower with this option, and I'm glad that came with that! The delivery of this tractor was amazing. One of the reasons I decided to purchase, is because SHIPPING WAS FREE with Amazon Prime! Other vendors wanted anywhere from $200-$400 to cover freight charges. So purchasing here on Amazon was the best option to save some money. Disassembly of the delivery cage and assembly of the tractor took a couple hours, but it was package extremely well. Be sure to take off the parking brake before trying to roll it off the crate. We'll see how this holds up over time, but for now, I am satisfied with this tractor and it fits my needs.

Defective product - completely bricked
Do not waste your money on this tractor. I bought this tractor April of 2024 and only put 25 hours on it before it completely bricked itself. It went to service 3 times, each time a different part getting replaced and firmware updates. We could not use the tractor in the fall to pick up leaves. It was in the service. It came back, we had the tractor for another couple of weeks and it died again. Back to service. Another 2 months in the service. Came back. It sat in the garage during winter. We take it out for spring time and it died again. Batteries are not the problem because we use the same batteries in other Ego products. When it bricks itself, it throws no error message. It will just not move forward or backwards. Now it bricked itself for the 3rd time April of 2025. Each time, it spent 1-3 months in the service. I just called the service today for an update after 1 months of being there and they are replacing more parts. They replace electrical components, they replace drive train, they update firmware. No luck. This is a brand new tractor that we paid $5000 for and also bought leaf catcher and other accessories too. Big mistake. Should have bought a John Deere. While other Ego products are good like the leaf blower and edge trimmer, do not buy this piece of garbage tractor. Ego won’t buy back their tractor. They say it needs to keep going back to service for warranty repairs. I’ve been on the phone with Ego and even spoke to supervisors. No help. They won’t buy it back. Just needs to keep going back to service for more repairs. The tractor is now 1 year old and spent maybe 6 months in the service. I’m not sure what we do from this point forward. The tractor is still in the shop right now with no end in sight. Don’t buy this tractor.

Good purchase, works in real world
This was a to rated electric riding mower with consumer reports. That's why I purchased it. Assembly was simpl. Initial charge was about 6 hours. The charger has a fan and lights when charging but when fully charged, the charger shuts off. I assume it is a type of trickle charger that will be easier on the electric bill. Real world use, I now my .77 acres and my neighbors. 86 acres minus the driv8 and house. However, this includes small hills, multiple backing up and real world cutting. A fully charged tractor after the cuts left me at 17% carger, then 16% charge then this last time, 22 % charge. It cuts nice, I can use ear buds only with no extra noise canceling hearing protection. No oil leaks or gas fumes in the garage. Good purchase.

Stop using gas!
The shipping is amazing. It is a custom steel frame held together with vibration resistant fasteners. All tools for unpacking are included. The mower can be easily moved by one person even without power. The lack of friction due to mechanical mechanics is a hidden bonus. One nut to secure the steering wheel and two to fasteners the seat and I mowered my lawn. No bs, no gas, no noise, no stink of a carb not running properly. Best of all, no anxiety over next year's issues. Now my wife does all the mowing. Tell me what that is worth!

worth the money.
Its everything I expected from this powerful battery operated lawn tractor. I sold my gas powered 42 inch deck mower and replaced with my new Ego 42 inch deck mower. I was spending on average $325-345 per year to have my previous lawn tractor serviced each winter (transport fees, tune-up, periodic belt and battery replacement, etc,...) No more oil changes, gasoline purchases, oil & Air filter, sparkplug changes. I like the tighter turning radius and smooth ride. The deck and chute dispatch the grass extremely well (no grass clog and grass furrows left behind). It has 12 blade adjustment heights. I can cut a 3/4 acre lawn by using only 53% of the battery power. I had no reservation about buying the Ego lawn tractor, since I have owned several Ego items including a self propelled mower, leaf blower, edger and trimmer. Its great that all of the batteries are compatible. (BTW, I have owned several gas powered edger's before and the Ego edger is the best hands down!!) I love to plug in the power cord as I park in the garage and it shuts off automatically when fully charged. I love it. More money up front, but in the log run, I'll actually save money.
