Brilliant!
I have the english translation omnibus edition and thrilled to find these books with the new stories interspersed with old. Such wonderful thoughtful and humourous tales I would recommend to all!

Well worth reading. .
These are simple well told tales that describe the small town conflict between church and communism in post 2nd world war Italy. Maybe the priest Don Camillo comes over better than communist mayor Peppone but that doesn't detract from the quality of the book....

Very happy to have my friends back.
I read these, little stories many years ago, and loved them. I have been wanting to re-read them for quite some time (having foolishly given away my original copies to family and friends, so that they could enjoy them) and i have been hoping that they would be introduced in a Kindle version. They are funny, moving, and just as relevant to today's condition as they were when they were written. They have a timeless, and placeless, message. I am very happy to have my friends, Don Camillo, Peppone, Brusco, Smilzo and the others back again.

The wonderful world of Don Camillo
These stories are both gentle and hard hitting reflecting universal truths which expose the basic humanity of people whatever their political views. Peponi despite his rabid communism has Christianity deeply embedded in his soul and Don Camilo despite his intractable opposition to the communist doctrine understands the humanity of its aderants. Everyone should take these wonderful parables to their heart. They will be the better for it.

I love these stories ....
I love these books. First discovered Don Camillo fifty years ago and was delighted to come across them again. They have lost none of their charm and humour and are as readable and relevant as ever.
